Corruption is everywhere. It is the greed that draw people to loose their conscience and live without principals.

In poor countries like India specially where the gap between wealth and poverty is so huge ( where rich get richer and poor get poorer ) corruption is an easy way to get out of poverty.

We must uncover corruption in all forms financial,or political,.., this is the only way we are back to clean living. Namaste

Corruption can be tackled only if the country's leadership has the political will to contain or eradicate it; and it must start from the very office of the leader itself and downward. These have been evidenced in small countries viz Hong Kong and Singapore.

However, both Hong Kong and Singapore are small geographically therefore much easier to police - but their leaderships enacted tough anti-corruption laws and created independent anti-corruption agencies whose only task was to investigate and provide evidence for prosecution. These civillian autonomous agencies (staffed by educated professionals) answer only to the highest in the land and have wide powers in order to be ruthlessly efficient.

I feel it is virtually impossible to tackle or even reduce corruption in big countries like India, Indonesia because of their continuing culture-of-graft mindsets that have pervaded through the decades - so much so it has become a way of life for many. The wide ranging gap of the wealthy and the poor - both strata of societies and everything else between are prone to accepting or offering bribes to ovecome a problem or to gain a favour. It would take someone with the highest integrity to say "no" to cash and favours - this breed of person is in the minority.

In the world, corruption is something we all learn to live with. But wait! We need not be resigned to it or cynical. Instead of breast-beating over the sorry state of affairs, let's explore the solutions. Maybe there are no satisfactory answers to our questions.

The most effective thing that individuals can do is to complain when they see corrupt acts occurring. This can be difficult when your superiors are the ones who are misbehaving! You don't want to confront an honest boss with a complaint that they are corrupt! Yet unless people have the confidence to raise their concerns with people they trust and are in a position to do something about it, nothing is ever going to get better.

Initiate discussion, within your own organization and with your friends about how existing complaint mechanisms are working (or not), and see whether there is room for any of you to take an initiative to improve them.

The best way to stop corruption is to stop the source of corruption.
Yes it is.
You have to think first why are people getting corrupt infact they are not corrupt by born.
On my point of view it's poverty.
India's customs officer taking bribe on port's it's known to all.
I asked one immigration officer in india nepal border during my tour to india nepal and srilanka that why do you charge extra on peoples?
They said first of all they have to pay huge sum of rupee to get this job so this is an investment now he has to take back his money and besides that govrenment salary is not enough for their status thay have big families living with them parents brothers sisters and own kids so with this huge soccer team how they will survive
they must have to be corrupt.
So to stop corruption in india all sector (govorenment and private)should have to increase their employee's salary and the recruitment policy also need to be changed and clear.
Political parties influence need's to be stopped.
Their financial income and expenditure need's to be audited and make public.
So first of all we have to handle the poverty then the corruption will stop by making strong monitoring cell and laws.

In India, you have a bureau or a commission for everything. Therein lies a big part of the problem and when you add religion it just gets incredibly ugly. Form unions, push for transparency in government, push for more women's rights, and vote for parties who want to dismantle ineffectual and pointless government bodies.

The only true way to tottally eliminate corruption is too become communists. When the state has all the money and the power anyway, there is nothing left to corupt.

a position of power is needed to indulge in corruption. all of these positions answer to those they serve. the higher the position, the more people they serve. the trick of power is to convince those they serve that the roles are reversed (the masses serve the one). to trick everyone into believing they need the corrupt & are powerless to stop them is the greatest tool of empires. the greatest weapon of the fascist is the tolerance of the pacifist.

Every country is corrupt. I know England is, I witness it first hand every day.
