Is it a genetic thing, a brain chemical inbalance, emotional, or just one of those random things. any ideas? just being curious

Tourette syndrome is an inherited neurological disorder with onset in childhood, characterized by the presence of multiple motor tics and at least one phonic tic, which characteristically wax and wane.

Tourettes is considered a childhood disorder because it has it's onset during those years. Some say that one factor is if your mother smoked while pregnant with you. It is actually an imbalance of chemicals in the motor area of the brain causing motor or verbal tics.

Its like a glitch in the brain I used to go out with a guy that had it. He was born with it.It caused him to yell out stuff mostly cuss words Also it caused him to twitch, and make funny faces, and grab at stuff. It's pretty entertaining! He took pills for it everyday

your just born with tourettes its natural and theres nothing wrong with it its actually quite cool lol
