We humans realize in our bones that we are a very close family, and this realization is symbolized in the story of Noah and the flood. The story is found, with variations, in all cultures. The first Homo Sapiens (our species of ape) were black, and dispersed "out of Africa", gradually populating the rest of the world. They displaced earlier human species that also had African origins. Along the way, the various races developed regionally in response to specific environmental challenges. The whole process of racial differentiation and migration has taken less than 100,000 years. It is recorded in the mutation of mitochondrial DNA, and has recently been traced by geneticists. However, the discipline of Paleoanthropology has had it pretty well figured out, based on the fossil record and the study of stone toolmaking, for the past several decades.

Since Noah's flood was not the only flood in the world, and they all happened at different times; We don't know the answer.

Science comes up with several theories, Darwin came up with others, (which he borrowed from someone else), myths and other stories tell of others.

I like the story about God baking the clay humans. One came out burned - blacks, one came out undercooked - whites, one came out just right - brown skin people. I'm undercooked - to the point of rare.

It just does not matter. God loves everyone.

From The Discovery Channel Canada:

Genetic evidence links modern humans to African ancestors
by: Elizabeth St. Philip, sysop@exn.ca April 4, 1997

According to the 'Noah's Arc' theory, all modern human beings evolved from one place. Where did we come from? This question has preoccupied human beings since well, the beginning of time. While stories like Adam and Eve offer an explanation to some, scientists have turned to our genes to decipher our evolutionary history.

"We are not looking at skeletons that we have dug up...we are looking at the people in the here and now to understand what happened 100,000 years ago. The history of our species is written in our genes," explains Dr. Lynn Jorde, a professor in the department of human genetics at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center in Salt Lake city.

He and colleagues at the University of Helsinki and Pennsylvania State University focused on mitochrondrial DNA, also known as deoxyribonucleic acid, a basic component of our chromosomes - and the carrier of our genetic information.

The scientists measured the genetic diversity among three racial groups - 65 Asians, 72 Africans and 120 Europeans - by counting the number of mutations or changes found in their mitochondrial DNA. Jorde found the greatest diversity among Africans, a strong indication that they are the "oldest" population.

Africa origin of human beings, scientists say

This means that modern human beings can probably trace their origins back to African ancestors, several hundred thousand years ago, says Dr. Jorde.

"If you think about it, the longer a population is around, the more time there is for [changes in the DNA] to accumulate. So with an older population you expect to see more genetic diversity. We see this greater diversity [with the Africans]."

His report, which was published April 1 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, supports a theory known as Noah's Arc or Out of Africa. According to this hypothesis, modern human beings originated in Africa and migrated to Europe and Asia, displacing more primitive humanoids. These groups later evolved into the 'races' that we recognize today.

"I think we have a natural curiosity about our origins and this just provides scientific evidence to answer the fundamental question: where do we come from?"

According to the narrative in Genesis Chapter 11 of the Bible, the Tower of Babel was a tower built by a united humanity to reach the heavens. Because man had it in his heart to be like God, God stopped this project by confusing their languages so that each spoke a different language. As a result, they could no longer communicate with one another and the work was halted. The builders were then scattered to different parts of Earth. This story is used to explain the existence of many different languages and races.

Just remember that Noah wasn't the only person in his time. There were still other races in the world during those times.

Probably because every generation diversifies more and more. Languages work that way. Languages continually diverge to the point where folks that had a common language can no longer speak to each other. Case in point: the Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italians, and Romanians all spoke Latin.

It is great to read and search, but never believe anyone, not even me!
All mythologies have such events! Greek mythology, for example, mentions three such events, but also that this did not happen everywhere, just in the vicinity of the East Mediterranean Sea!
You are correct, Talmud does not mentions other people, anywhere, it is just the Jewish mythology!
