As a soldier in Iraq, I watch the news and realize there are two wars. The one that I am living every day with my fellow soldiers, and the one on CNN. The two are very different. The news version rarely focuses on the good things that soldiers are doing for this country and for it's people. I have seen people that have had little access to medical care get treated. I have seen family's get help feeding and clothing their family's. I have watched a county start to rebuild itself. Germany did not rebuild itself over night, and neither will Iraq.
I used to get mad when I would see the daily violence on TV, but realized that I am defending their right to free speech. I don't always agree with what they say, but I will defend the right for them to say it.

I'm an ex-military WIFE and I get mad! I can't imagine how my husband feels, but I see the look in his eyes. He has said that he wishes all the people who talk bad about the war or the military needs to spend some time in it, even though he also says that those same folks would not last out basic training, let alone a real deployment.
I'm proud of what our Army and the rest of the military does for us. If they did not, we could not be free. End of story.

I get a little irritated when they do stupid stuff like that. You get these people who have gone to college forever and they think they are experts now because of it. Granted they may be intelligent on the subject but until you see it first hand you never know 100%. As far as the people who are merely listening to the news and spouting off at the mouth I just look at them and laugh to myself because they really don't have any clue what so ever. We are truly trying to help these people here in Iraq and that is what we need to continue to do. It amazes me that people can criticize whats happening here and truly be talking out of their a**.

I agree with Jack f, there is not enough being said by the media about the GOOD things going on. My husband has been deployed in Iraq twice and no one talks about how grateful the Iraq people are for the US soldiers. No one ever talks about the look on the faces of Iraq's children when US soldiers hand out candy, pencils, crayons, coloring books, etc.
During their last deployment my husbands unit contacted us and asked, for one month, instead of sending things they needed to send bags of candy, crayons and coloring books, small toys, or anything they could carry with them while on patrol to hand out to the kids. My nephews Cub Scout group collected the small bars of soap, shampoo, and hand lotions that hotels put out. We sent them and the adult people received them and just praised our guys.
If people took time to listen to the positive, I think alot of people would feel a little differently about us being in Iraq.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

I get upset with them, the same way I get upset with the knuckleheads in this forum that couldn't find their a$$ with a map, compass, and flashlight.
But then I think, you can't get mad at the ignorant people in the world, you can only try to educate them. Then I think, they ARE educated. Most of them have been to college, so they are intelligent.
Then I quit worrying about it. Someone once said that it is better to keep your mouth shut and let the world think you are an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them right.

I get pretty P___ed at times, especially when I compare today with my service in VietNam. We had lots of idiots trying to run the show then too!
Unfortunately for us the idiots were in the White House,Liberal Democrates. They sent us and then tied our hands with STUPID, Rules of Ingagement,WE were supposed to let them shoot first.
HELL, they even tried to ration our ammo , it was expensive.
Our troops went to Iraq without the latest body armour and armoured Hummers because the Clinton administration cut the funding and slashed the size of the military 25% .Thats how they balanced the budget. Remember the so called PEACE DIVIVEND
Don't believe me ,lok it up it's part of the Congressional Record

Yes, it's pretty annoying but I try to tell myself that these same people are the ones paying for it out of their taxes, so they have a right to voice their opinion. Also the majority of them feel this way at least partly because they care about the troops (as well as the almighty dollar of course), so I try to see that side of how they feel. But the ones who think they know everything and don't care about the personnel risking their lives for their own rights can shove it.

What makes me mad is when they focus on the negative and ignore all the positive things. No wonder many think we are losing? The reporting is all one sided. And the daily bodycount is ghoulish. They are really a bunch of sick basturds.

It bothers me, but I know the good we have done over there. Think about it, you never hear about good cops, good surgeons or good teachers on the news. Only the bad ones. It isn't so much the liberal media as it is the negative media.
