logically looking it is possible as it is a prpperty of the desert siol that it can be reclaimed if the water is provided to it..but it will cost a lot to change the whole australian desert into a forest..both in resources and time..but yes it can be done

Sure. Most farmers know how to grow things on poor soil.
A good place to start may be the Sahara Desert, The Nile
has lots of water, I don't know much aboutAustralia.desert.
"We" are slash cutting trees in this country and not replanting new trees. The way it used to be, Selective Cutting, the replanted trees kept a balance of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide. Now the shortage of trees is not giving
off enough Oxygen and this causes Global Warming. Of course cars are Destroying the atmosphere too. Can you Imagine a billion Chinese people demanding automobiles now that they are getting so much money from USA?
Another billion in India? Anyway, Read Al Gore's book
"An Inconvenient Truth", He can tell you all about it. Or
go to see the Movie.

Hm, trying to change an ecosystem, AND with species that doesn't belong even near there... It's possible if you invest a lot of money in it... And still I don't see the point of destroying something nature created... I mean, why would you do that? And still, one day, if you don;t have any more money to support that project it will turn back to desert again...

Yes, you can plant plants with low water needs, but a forest needs also a huge community of animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, etc. in order to survive, and most of those species are not already adapted to desert conditions.

So you can plan them, but you can't make it prosperous.
