No, I use to do it all the time, but after my third suspension it got boring. The questions that will really get people going are the cannibal ones, the answers I always got made me laugh. Who cares if you piss people off f*ck them.

The operative word in your question is "morally." So, the question is, what is morality?

dictionary.com defines it as:

1. The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.
2. A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct: religious morality; Christian morality.
3. Virtuous conduct.

morality

n 1: concern with the distinction between good and evil or right and wrong; right or good conduct [ant: immorality] 2: motivation based on ideas of right and wrong [syn: ethical motive, ethics, morals]

So, by this definition, would your actions (in this case, asking questions you know will piss people off) qualify as moral? Well, you may have a legitimate question that you *know* may offend some but your motives are sincere in asking. I don't think this is morally wrong. If, however, your motive is to exasperate people just for the sheer joy of it, this *is* morally wrong (in my opinion). Intentionally provoking people just to start a fight or argument is not virtuous.

There is always personal responsibility to be demonstrated on the flip side of this coin. Just because a question is asked, doesn't mean it must be answered. If I'm gullible enough to fall for such a thinly-veiled ploy, then perhaps I deserve the needling. Just my opinion. ; )

I don't think it morally wrong to ask such questions, so long as the question is actually thought-provocating and intended to raise attention and encourage constructive debate. The truth does not know of modesty, and sometimes it is necessary to play the role of iconoclast.

If the question is made only to piss people off, however, it's not so much morally wrong as it is stupid and a waste of everyone's time. When confronted by such a question, please do not feed the trolls.

Yes on here. They should (and will) be reported as abuse if they are obviously inflammatory. Read the Community Guidelines.

If we are talking about generally, then they sometimes have a purpose, but only when you are asking a specific person (or group), for example, in trying to get them to open up or to reveal what the real source of their anger is.

The best practice is always to respect another person's opinions, even though you feel they are wrong, ridiculous or biased. If you feel that you can only be destructive, then say nothing. If you genuinely want to know something, then be polite not offensive.

No I think people should always say what on their mind. It's not your fault if the other person can't handle the truth. But keep in mind that you should be prepared to suffer the consequences of all things that you do. Not all people you can say whatever you want too to. Like the phrase "your mouth will get you in trouble" or "something are better off not being said"

Ain't no sense in getting pissed off about any questions here. I just consider the source when someone asks a dumb question. Plus, I usually give them a deserving answer in return!

If it's for that sole purpose, yeah, it is. Antagonizing people isn't the most noble reason for being.

If you're asking a valid question that will help you to learn some information you need, then no, it isn't. For any topic you can bring up, there's usually someone out there who isn't going to like it.

And then of course there are the community guidelines to consider. Why not just follow them?

No...it is not wrong to ask a question you know will p*** people off, BUT, :
1- Your question should be for the cause of knowledge.
2- You question should not contain offensive words.

If you do so , there is nothing really to worry about....
That if you really care.

No question will piss someone off as long as the person is open minded and can give an answer that will satisfy your curiosity :)

good question. i think it comes down to the motive in your heart. Ask yourself are you trying help them and build them up or are you puffed up and want to be a big man in a condescending way attempting to provoke anger
