sauce

For me, both are important. If the pasta is soggy, no sauce can make it more appetizing. All things being equal regarding the cooking, there are some shapes of pasta that I much prefer over others, like vermicelli, rotini, or radiatore. There are so many different sauces that are delicious... but I prefer light sauces, and I don't want anything with seafood or fish. So when I'm looking at a menu in a restaurant, or planning a meal, I pay attention to both the pasta and the sauce.

I can eat pasta without the sauce. Some pastas has carrots, tomato or spinach flavors in it. Who needs the sauce anyway? It will just add to the belly...

I believe it will be the sauce because it gives the pasta taste! :)

the pasta, if I am really broke then I live on plain pasta and rice as it fills you up and is cheap! It is nice just with a little melted butter and black pepper on it.
