Please do yourself a favour put kitty litter inside as well, they sometimes prefer doing their business inside, I think they feel safer, the other thing you could do is Buy IAMS or EKANUBA cat food at your vet it removes the smell of their unine and stools as well, the best thing that you can do is buy the food ASAP. Remove the litter every morning replace every evening.

what you need to do is treat the soil in the cat run, the soil is probably sour from urinating and taking a dump.
Go to your local garden shop and buy a bag of POWDERED dolomite lime,
sprilkle it very generously on the ground inside the run and water thoroughly a couple times a day for two or three days till all the lime is absorbed into the ground,
This will sweeten up the soil and eliminate any odors.
Do not let the cats in the run while you are treating it.

1. Use a hooded litter tray with a carbon filter.
2. Use a wood based litter and enpty the tray and wash it every day. Or use a clay based clumping litter and scoop out the clumps every day.
3. Feed a premium dry diet - this will reduce the amount of waste produced and its smell - but you need to make sure there is clean water availale at all times.

Hope this helps

buy the cat a litter box and line the bottom of the box, sprinkle with baking soda and than put in cat litter. Also you can sprinkle baking soda where ever there is an Oder, The baking soda will absorb the Oder. Good luck!

I like the suggestion about the litter box, also, if you don't have one, in your cat run, try picking up the feces daily. Do you remove the poo, or just let it pile up? Keeping it under control should definately eliminate the smell.
