God is a loving God. He doesn't want anyone to go to hell. Non believers want you to think that only the God of the Old Testament as evil but God's judgment had to come on them in that day because they continue to live in sin and was warned several times. People do not threaten anyone but tell others who are listening what the consequences are of sinning and they are concerned for ur soul salvation. You have a choice. God has given you the gift of free will. That's all.

Depending on what God you are speaking of, or for that matter, Goddess, history of these mythical creatures show they can be vengeful and dangerous.

Think about how the Christian God flooded the earth to kill all but a handful of the flora and fauna here?! Shameful behavior for a good god. He also banished Adams first wife, Lilith, because she refused to obey Adam. She became the first "vampire", a killer of children and a demi-Goddess.

Every religion has this kind of mythology to explain the pain and suffering of life. The ones inventing theses stories use this fear to make people believe them! "Do as this god says and you will be spared", in the mean time, they have their hand out to you for your hard earned cash.

Gods and Goddess's are all representations of human and natures strengths and weaknesses. They are tools for people to control other people. History proves time and time again that when a given society allows a religious dogma to drive its believers into fanatics, they kill in the name of their god/goddess(s). Shame something that can be beautiful when handled with care and forethought can be so deadly and damaging. I like the fact that religions can (operative word) teach people to be spiritual beings, its the bad apples that make me turn my back on organized religion.

anyone who was a true follower of God wouldn't say things like that, and as Jesus said - many will run to me in the end times saying Master! Master!, and I will say get away from me - I do not know you. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
These are the people you are describing, and the world is filled with them. fools may be fools, but in the powderkeg world of religion, fools are dangerous.

Because that is their business.

They ignore the words of Jesus Christ, they ignore the word of God today and instead seek to find any ancient words of hate and any possible escoteric and suspect quotes to reinforce their position.

They are the modern day money lenders of the Temple, the Pharisees, the very thing that Jesus Christ fought against.

They don't care for the actual words of Jesus Christ, but to fleece honest followers of their money. They are the worst of the worst, frequently supported by well intentioned, but uninformed Bible cut and pasters.

God is not mean. God forgives their lies and their hate. God forgives them for their deceit and hurt.

God is just an extension of the person, they throw God's weight around to get people to do what they want...it's really themselves with an added threat and weight of God...unfortunately for them God doesn't exist and fortunately for the rest of us more people these days can see through the act and the tyranny.

"God thinks you are a sinner" actually means "I don't like you doing that and I want to stop you doing it by making threats backed up by my imaginary God"

In a Biblical perspective- the god in the old testament is god of wrath, a god of judgement, of justice, and yes, of fire and brimstone. On the other hand, the new testament God represents those attributes associated with Christ: kind, loving, welcoming, and forgiving.

I agree that its giving God a bad rap to bad-mouth Him, because He is a loving God.

He will treat all people fairly. Hell doesn't burn forever. But there will come a time when He will make the earth clean again. Clean from sin and pain and sorrow. He will purify it with fire. If we hold on to our sins, we will get zapped with them. If we let go of our sins, they will be destroyed forever, but we will llive forever in happiness.

Some people only "believe" in God because they are afraid not to. These are the same people who believe that not believing in God means you have no reason to do anything good... simply because they wouldn't do anything good if they weren't constantly threatened with punishment.
