The key is changing the AVI to VCD format. Keep in mind that you will need a dvd player that supports SVCD/VCD 2.0. I use Sonic My DVD and it works well for doing that as well as many other video editing tasks. It's not free but you can get it here. http://www.sonic.com/products/Consumer/MyDVD/StudioDeluxe/quicklook.aspx?o_e25=Paid%20Search&ovmkt=3LDR8TH6ABTN95NHQBE91L26UK&OVRAW=sonic%20mydvd&OVKEY=sonic%20mydvd&OVMTC=standard

There is freeware out there so you can do a search for "free avi to dvdr" and see what you come up wih. Good luck.

there are loads of Different codecs that use the .avi extension. most dvd players can NOT read most of them. mine ( a bose and a SONY ) cannot read any from dvd, although thy read a few avi files off cdr s. use nero 7 (6 might also be able to do it) to burn your dvds in the 'make your own dvd-video' mode

Any DVD burn program: just burn them as data. If your DVD player reads and plays ..avi, that's all!
