If you do not know what career to select, I strongly suggest that you travel to your local Career office at your high school or a Career Assessment Center at your local community college and let a professional know your problem. There, free of charge, you can take assessment tests to measure your interests, work values and skills and then recieve feedback from a Career Counselor regarding your results.

With this new information about yourself, you will be in a much better position to begin to choose your future career.

What interests you? That's so important. If you're going to spend your entire life doing it, wouldn't it be prudent to try and spend your days doing something you love? Perhaps you enjoy cooking. You could study culinary arts and become a chef. Think about what things you enjoy. Also, there are so many careers out there that you probably never even heard of. Speak to a career counselor or get books from the library. My daughter has a Masters degree in Educational Technology and works as a learning strategist. Bet you never heard of that one. Use the internet. Do searches. Find out what's out there. Good luck!!!!!!

No one needs to help you. You are going to have to make this decision on you own. Because, this life is yours and you need to love it. Think of the thing you like to do and the thing you love to do. Investigate jobs, there's lots of information on the Internet telling you about what is involved in certain jobs, look them over. I'm a mom and this is what I told my daughter who just graduated from high school and she is starting to college this fall taking business administration. I told her to take the basic classes first that way if she changed her mind she would have those classes out of the way. The job market is very competitive and education is very important. So if fall comes around and your still undecided like about half college freshman. Start to college take the basics.

My daughter said as a senior in high school I want to go to Europe and "learn how to do me". On graduation sh e went to live in Paris, France. she took a year of American College there. Traveled through Europe. Met a friend who taught her a lot about merchandising, came back to US took jobs that increased her understanding of that field, now at 42 she has a highly successful business of design and manufacturing wholesale fabrics. one of the few women in that business. I think for some, it is too early to make a life commitment to a profession or business. It is good to explore life and allow it to take one where it will, trusting the process.

xray techs make good money. Once you have a certificate/degree in radiologic technology you can do CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Cath Lab (heart stents, etc), Vascular Lab (stenting everything else besides the heart and some other different invasive procedures that require xray). A lot of different modalities open up.
