eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10)
If eating shellfish is an abomination then does that mean everyone who eats it gets to burn in hell like the dirty freaks they are? Shouldn't we have a rally to say how much god hates those dirty stinking shellfish eaters?

We should make signs too. And protest at the Red Lobster.

Who are you to take the word of god out of context! You can't question the lord. He said abomination so it's a darn abomination! You eat it and straight to hell you go!

No your all wrong. If the bible says it's an abomination you CAN NOT take it any other way. You must look at it exactly like it's written. Who care's when it was written or under what context.

Maybe those crustaceans really are aphrodisiacs. YES!!!!!
You think it's possible that when that was written, they were having a problem with red tide. That is where shellfish become poisonous.
Kind of like the tomato being thought to be poisonous because it is the only memebr of its family that is not. That's why it was not considered edible well into the 1800's.
Geez, learn a little first, some things are a part of history.
Also, while it says abomination, it does not say sin or against God. Makes me think they caused people to get sick or die. And birds carry disease too. Seems in those times, you did have to be careful about what you ate.
And you're supposed to be a korngoddess and afraid to show us a pic ? WOW, not sure on that one. You might've had the ugly stick broken on you for all anyone knows.

im not an expert on this question. but i think this was a specific command to the israelites at that time. This was a good commandment because eating those shelfish would be very harmful for a people who did not have refigerators and lived in the desert. Jesus declared all food to be clean including pork in the new testament. So it is not that shellfish are a sin per say but it was for a desert dwelling people 3000 yrs ago. God did not want them to get sick. In the same circulstance i would adivse the same today. But if you can eat it fresh go ahead you dont have to worry about going to hell

alright first this was old testament so Jesus had not come down to earth yet. this was an outline of the Jewish diet the whole kosher thing not drinking milk and eating beef at the same time and no pork. Science has found the kosher diet is extremely health and was given to the Jewish people by God because our bodies are a temple to God. Later there is a passage that shows these limitations of diet were lifted why i can't remember it has been a long time since I've studied this aspect of the Bible

The law you are talking about are health laws given by God to keep you healthy. it's not any sort of serious sin other than to your body's health, and if you would actually read the context of which the Laws were given, you might find out that some sins are not that serious, and all the health laws are for is to keep your body running great for as long as possible. God should know what your body needs - God built them, and tried to advise.
seems like you're angry, but nowhere in the Bible does it give any sort of punishment for not following the health laws. Don't need to, because your body will take the punishment anyway. knock yourself out without your burn in hell babble.....

INITIAL REMARKS ABOUT SHELLFISH:
What did one greedy crab say to another greedy crab?
You're so shellfish!!!
Ha ha.. ok that was lame.. now...
My ANSWER...
There are two parts to the Bible, the old testament and the new testament. The old testament was written before the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The old testament contains laws by which God's people were required to live and when they made mistakes a sacrifice was required to atone for those mistakes. Many of these laws seem strange to us today and Christians commonly violate many of the old testament laws. However, when Jesus died, he completed the laws of the old testament and made a new way for entry to God's kingdom.
Now, rather than relying on following a strict set of rules for entry to heaven, all that is required is for us to simply accept the free gift of salvation that is offered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and his return from the dead. No, they are not made to burn in hell. They are put to shellfish to eat them.
In fact when at one occasion Jesus was served with the shellfish, that was stale and gave a very bad taste to Jesus. So he declared that the shellfish should be banned for the christians.

Quite simply...
This was Old Covenant Law. When Christ came, He fulfilled that law, and we are no longer under obligation to follow the ceremonial aspects of it.
We now fulfill the law by following Christ with all of our hearts and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
The rules and regulations in the Old Testament were all signposts showing us our desperate need for a Savior. They revealed God's holy and separated nature. They were good in their time, but are now fulfilled through relationship with Christ.

Even though your question seems silly, I think I'll take it seriuosly and give an answer.
Mostly, it appears to me that God says we shouldn't eat scavenger animals. That makes sense. And since He created us, He ought to know what is best for us to eat and not to eat.
People who eat shell fish may or may not burn in hell. It depends on whether or not they love Jesus and accept the sacrifice of His life to wipe away their sins.

The bible is interpreted many ways. You can pick out a verse to fit any situation. That was the point. Good thing I don't eat shell fish though:)

Because of His death and this new agreement, we are no longer under ceremonial laws involving days. Moral laws are in effect in believer's hearts, but not the ceremonial laws. Proof? God says in Colossians 2:14,16 that Christ [blotted] out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.... Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy- day, or of the new moon, or [Get it!] of the sabbath days.
