In my opinion I guess it depends on what you mean by or consider a debt.

I call myself a "NO" and not a christian so maybe my view is different from a christian. I owe my hope and faith to My God. I owe my future to grace and mercy in love. Thus my debt in that respect is too much.

As far as money debts, I have none because I do try to stay within my means and to be content with what I do have. However there are times when I do give my word to pay tomorrow but when tomorrow comes I do pay. Thus I do feel there is no wrong if one has a debt except the fact that a borrower is the slave of the lender this if possible it should be avoided.

I guess my conclusion is if at all possible do avoid any debt if possible except to one who will always forgive the debt to avoid slavery and to truly be free.

Paul, in Scripture says to "owe no man anything, except the debt of (brotherly) love."

It's better not to be in debt.

Catholicism is the richest organization in the world! Which I guess if they take a "vow" of poverty is pretty hypocritical. So I suppose, that yea they should be/

No. I do not think that they should. We prosper more when we are not in debt.

We should neither a lender or borrower be. You should be able to live with what God provides.
