I am sort of catholic and wanted to get as close to original bible as possible with as little change as possible and still be able to read it. Is there one on line? If not, where I would buy it and what is it called. I wish to study it and make up my own mind on the Catholic Church

What you are looking for does not exist.

That is to say, unless you are willing to learn; Greek Aramaic and some more languages. Else you are stuck with basically the same translations.

If you want t come close to the original you better read up about the discussion on the content of the Dead Sea Scrolls. They are the oldest stuff around and shed new light on the translation of the bible.

There are free study tools. One of the best is at www.e-sword.net The problem is not one of faulty translations though. It is a problem of either adding to the word of God (as the catholics do) or taking away from His word (only using a limited number of scriptures, as the protestants do). That's the only way there can be so many denominations with all using the same book. Each denomination has to omit scriptures that the others use. As for catholicism just compare it against the Bible. http://www.acts1711.com/jesus2a.htm

Your goal is a bit narrow - rather than studying just to test one religion, keep your mind open and let scripture lead you to a faith - then find out what church's sermons best match the doctrines that are pretty clear and straight-forward. Don't get bogged down with theology that even scholars don't agree on. And if you try a translation that puts difficult concepts in simple words - beware - you don't want to be dumbed-down.

One person said, "It seems that the vast majority of the criticism against the New World Translation is actually as a proxy for blind hatred against Jehovah's Witnesses. The hatred must be "blind" since secular experts of biblical Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shaky tenets of their false worship. " This is quite false. Just do a search of "accuracy of the New World Translation". Most JW's have no idea how accurate it is, or how inaccurate it is, as they don't have a school that teaches the original languages of Hebrew and Greek. They merely take the word of the leadership. If it were accurate, it wouldn't have changed, and changed again. Don't trust me, or them. Do your own research. BTW, you should also look up the credentials of their "translators".

if i may be so bold, so as not to insult you, you SHOULD NEVER pay for a bible.

this is the only part of your question i felt troubled with...

applause for the "make my own mind up" part, that is one of the most independant individual things a person can do.
