I use iTunes and some media but i want to make my laptop run more smooth. I know about the system tools ways, but what are some software tricks?

its a very good program to have..

or if u want to increase the speed of your laptop i would also advise an increase in your RAM.

Step 1: Re-install OS. A clean build is always much faster.
Step 2: Buy more memory.
Beyond that, not really, but those two steps alone will most likely help dramatically

dont run memory or processor hungry applications that you dont need... stuff like the vista inspirat or other apps which do themeing can gobble up system resources. also, look through the applications that start up on booting and remove those that you dont need
