Hi everybody,

I leave my PC most of the time in standby mode, and sometimes I miss very urgent emails. I was wondering if there is anyway that when I receive new mail, my PC gets up from standby mode.

Thanks

nope. In order to check email, your computer must be on. It cannot check email in standby, and therefore cannot wake up.

Vista will introduce a new technology called Side Show, which might allow something like this, though it is still losely defined, and no full implimentation has yet been built.

nope.
Sine Yahoo! Mail is not part of your computer, and is online software, when Yahoo! Mail receives new mail, your computer will not of it, therefore it will not return from standby.

sorry.
