Just one thing?

Well, aside from the basis of the Religion itself, the "vision" by Joseph Smith that started it all, it would definitley be the view on polygamy they held for so long, and then suddenly dropped.

Oh yea, the poster above me has another good one.

I just read all the answers to your questions. You hardly ever see the mountain massacre mentioned by our enemies. Blacks and the priesthood is hardly talked about either. It's mainly just used to falsely accuse the church of being rasicist, which it is not. There are reasons and explanations for every question against the church, ask me if you need to.

The root of all the hatred and persecution is what our church claims to be. To be extrememly blunt it is very clear from history that the early church fell away from the truth. It adopted dozen of pagan concepts and became the cathlic church. The Cathlic religion, especially the popes, committed so many attrocities that to believe they are the "true" church or they have the whole truth in them is rediculous. As christ said, "by their fruits you will know them". The church fell away from the truth.

Continue to look through history and you will see that Martin Luther and several others saw that the church had fell, breaking away from the Cathlic church and trying to establish other churches that were more right to their view. They did their best to form the church back but noone actually knew what the true church was. They adapted their current beliefs into what they interpreted from the scriptures. Thousands followed their example and thousands of different denominations of christians sprouted up after many years. Currently we have about 600,000 different denominations of christianity. Each of these denominations believe differently and teaches differently.
To believe that all these denominations have the truth is also illogical because if god is perfect then he would only teach one truth, not 600,000 truths, that would make no sense. God is not a God of confusion.

Not only that but the true church has the priesthood, the authority of god spoken of in the scriptures. The cathlic church claims to have that authority, passed from it's many popes to it's bishops, exc. I've studies history and there is no records of the passing of authority, no clear successtion. Not only that but the true church having he priesthood of god would never commit such atrocities as the ancient cathlic church did.
Any churches connected to the cathlic church cannot be the true church as well, because they all started off as Cathlic. If their mother church is not true how can they be?
This is the state of confusion about christianity that the world was in when Joseph Smith was born. When praying to God about which church was the true church he recieved a vision from God. He was basicly told that none of the current churches were true, though they all held some truth, but not completely. After several more years of learning and understanding he was called to be a prophet of God, he was given the priesthood authority of God and reformed the church.
He called twelve apostles, had the same organization of the original church. He declared several current believes of christianity false and reinstated the original believes of the early church. He revieved revelation for the church, just like the ancient prophets did.
His being called as a prophet follows a pattern shown throught the scriptures. Every time the people of the lord turn to evil he eventually calls a prophet to teach and lead the people of God back to him.

The reason he and the church is hated so much is because if what we believe is right, the whole christian religion has been following a not so right teaching for thousands of years. They have changed doctrines and other things all against Gods will. The people of the world fear they are wrong, therefore they try to find or make up things that "prove" the church wrong. Most are pure lies, spread by mostly pastors of other churches who do not want anyone learning of our message. These lies or delibrate misuderstanding are believed and spread, noone bothers to ask us the truth, or ask us to explain it.

The greeks did the same thing to the early church if you want to look up all the stuff they did. They didn't want the message of christianity to be true so made up lies and persecuted the sainst so their message wouldn't be believed when heard.
The Jews at the time of the early church did the same thing to it as most christians do to us now, and have been doing since the formation of the church. You'll notice in the New Testiment that the Jews bribed, murdered, spread lies, pressured the romans, anything to shut up the christians.
They did not want christs message to be true, not only would the pharasees and Saducces lose their power but christ was not the "savior" they were looking for. It would mean they had been wrong for hundreds or more years, they had even added or changed commandments in the law, they couldn't stand to be wrong, their pride and love of the world was too great.

"if ye were of the world, the world loveth you, but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you, the world hateth you"
