Why do so many Christians fail to understand that ancient eunuchs were transsexuals and the equivalent of modern day, gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendereds? That's what eunuchs are today in India... the Hijra are transsexuals... that's what eunuchs always were... transsexuals. Furthermore... not all of them were castrated, that is a false connotation as Eunuch technically means "bed keeper" from the greek koine and has nothing to do with other more accurate words from both latin and greek that could have been used to identify a castrated man. A majority of eunuchs were probably homosexual men and if they already behaved effeminately they wouldn't need to be castrated. True there are parts of the Bible that clearly denounce the intergendered, but there are MORE parts that support and encourage us. Why are these ignored??? Are we all just doomed to hell because we cannot escape the sins of racism, sexism and bigotry???

Because christains are taught to have blind faith and not to think too deeply about the reality of our world but to just denouce non believing behavior as the work of the devil. Simple beliefs for simple minds I guess.

Eunuchs...by pure definition, were castrated men...if they weren't then they weren't eunuchs. I will say that because of the castration process, they would be more "effeminate" because of the lack of hormones...but that doesn't mean that they were transsexuals(which is a very specific term). Where there some eunuchs that could have been "used" because of the feminizing, sure, but that doesn't mean that's what they were. And "bed keeper" technically means servant, it is not a sexual connotation. And if the men in India are called eunuchs, it's because they are castrated...not because they are transsexuals. I would suggest a bit more "looking" into this subject, instead of making grandeous statements that can easily be discounted.

The Bible never encourages or supports the acts of homosexuality or other sexual immorality. As far as being doomed to Hell, it's not being sexually immoral any more than it is stealing a cookie from the cookie jar when you were a little kid. Sin is what does it. Any sin. And asked for salvation and forgiveness, along with faith, is what cures it. And when it comes to many Christians' failure to understand what exactly an eunuch is, the reason is simply that it's a moot point. It is not relevant to salvation or a belief in God. It's like knowing which country put the first man on the moon. It's nice to know, but it doesn't put any money in your pocket (unless you're on Jeopardy).

I'm pretty sure that men WERE (not sure if they still ARE) castrated. Sometimes boys were castrated so not to lose their high singing voice.
So no, eunuchs were probably not transsexuals or homosexuals. There are different references to those groups in the bible. Eunuchs are most likely something different altogether.

When you say hell. Is there a hand basket involved and do I get to pick the color of the ribbon? I understand what you are saying regarding this, but you are needing to repharse it a bit. I know that you are supporting, or at least it sounds like you are trying to support LGBT community, but you put it in a way that sounds confusing.
Do not judge least you be judged yourself.

Even today, with massive surgery, anyone's claims to be "transsexual" are specious at best. You suggest that ancient eunuchs were transsexuals... how?
Also, why are you so bannannas for eunuchs? I never knew there was such a strong anti-eunuch crowd.

you're just trying to make an excuse to yourself.
Eunuchs are helpers for the female royalties. they were castrated because the male royalties are worried that they might do something to the females since they're with them 24-7.

Anyone who has faith in God, needs to have faith that Jesus died for ALL of our sins - so if your sexuality really is a sin (im not saying it is) than ask God for forgiveness and smile knowing you will be sitting in heaven for eternity.
