Luke 6:37, "Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
Also in the Lord's prayer, "And forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us (Matthew 6:12)"
We keep from being revengeful by remembering the tremendous price Christ paid on the cross to forgive us of our sins. Once we have received forgiveness from Him for all of the things we have done wrong, it is easy to forgive others.
All of us have sinned, all of us have done wrong, so we all stand equally guilty before God. Only through His blood can we be forgiven.
As we remember this, we will forgive others.

read I john 1:9 god's forgiveness for us/self
now on forgiving others:- colossians 3:13, matthew 6:9-15, ephesians 4:32, matthew 5:23-24, luke 23:34
forgiveness states that we need to ask god to forgive us.
forgiveness states that we need to forgive others.
now how does 1 not become a revengeful person:? in the bible it states : vengence is mine saith god.
we're not to judge anyone, we're no one to judge or past judgement on anyone. only god can do that. he's the judge. in order not to become revengeful, you need to forgive those that have wronged u. if you hold onto the hurt,. then if u don't get rid of it right away, the hurt turns into anger, then bitterness, then hate. that's not a good thing. god says to forgive 70x's 7 meaning we need to & god commands us to forgive people forever.
that's a commandment from god.
hope this helps

Tough one....If you are looking for forgiveness I would not hang onto just one verse.
I would read all of Corinthians. It is a good place to start. After that look in the Concordance (Index) of a bible for forgiveness or forgive.
Good luck, and trust me....anything can be forgiven. Once you do, it is world lifted off of you shoulders friend.

One of the best scripture to assist you is at Mark 11:25,26 -
"And when you stand praying, forgive whatever YOU have against anyone; in order that YOUR Father who is in the heavens may also forgive YOU YOUR trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."
So, we want to have that concept on - "We don't want on prays being hindered in any way!"
Also, Colossians 3: 12-14 benefits on the level of how to cope with life and it's problems that we face (despite how hard it is to deal with):
"Accordingly, as God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with the tender affections of compassion, kindness, lowliness of mind, mildness, and long-suffering. Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Even as God freely forgave YOU, so do YOU also. But, besides all these things, [clothe yourselves with] love, for it is a perfect bond of union.
I hope this information helps you.

a "not" revengeful person, if English is not your native tongue then it appears as if you have the spelling down but you may wish to work on the idiosyncracies of the English language. Maybe if someone wasn't spiteful, vengeful, then the world would be a better place and you would not worry about becoming vengeful or spiteful.
