Some Protestants believe that Jesus is God, others a God, others not a God. Not all Protestants are Trinitarians. Some believe in 3 separate Gods. Some believe that there is only One Person in God. Others a host of different and varied beliefs.
It truly depends on the type of Protestant that you are talking to. (Once I was talking to a Protestant mega church pastor and he told me point blank that he had no right or capability to tell me if their daughter church in a different city held the same beliefs).

Oh for goodness sake...the main "book" of the Catholic Church is the bible...not the catechism...the catechism is what is the Catholic faith, as in what is a Catholic, not where the faith comes from...and I am a Catholic, a lapsed one, but a Catholic nonetheless. And oh, by the way, Catholics do read their own bible (you're given one when you join or born into the Church), and the Pope is the figure-head of the Church, not the "Church" itself; and let me remind some of you that there are Protestant "leaders"...as in elders, counsels, and others...so the Catholic Church is not the only Christian religion that has a leader(s).
In answer to your question, there are some Protestants that believe Jesus is God...and there are some that believe in the Trinity, as in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It just depends on what denomination you are and what that denomination believes in. And oh, to give myself some creditability, I was a Protestant before my family became Catholic.
The main difference between Protestants and Catholics is one simple thing...whether or not the Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ literally, or more metaphorically. You can get into dogmas about Mary, and no, Catholics don't worship her(or they're not supposed to anyway), we honor her; the saints(we don't worship them either), and so on and so forth...but the Eucharist is the MAIN difference.
And Catholics do believe in the Trinity, very much so. I hope this helps.

Yes Protestants believe that Jesus is God.
Basically, the difference between Protestants and Catholics is that Protestants believe in a completely salvation completely by grace through faith, whereas Catholics often mix in man's efforts to be saved (ie. obedience to the pope, confession, communion, infant baptism). Protestants believe in good works, but there is a recognition that good works follow our salvation, they cannot earn our salvation as man is sinful. Only God's grace can save us.
As for the second part of your question, there is a small branch of Protestantism that denies the Trinity and believes that Father, Son and Spirit are all the same personality. This is a very, very small percentage of Protestants, however.

there have been total traditions contained in the first centuries of Christianity the position people debated the nature of Christ and his relationship with God. a number of this Christology survived; a number of that is been revived. To the better of my comprehend-how, Protestants in many circumstances both settle for the Trinity or have self belief that Jesus is all there is of God. The Jehovah's witnesses will be between those who evaluate Jesus totally human. If we take pre-Exilic Judaism into consideration (see the Dictionary of Judaism's get admission to on Monotheism), we may be able to work out obviously from Jesus' words that he became claiming to be YHWH (Jehovah), the son of Elohim (the daddy of Spirits, the most intense, etc.). He became no longer God the daddy. He became the son of God, and for this reason also a divine being. Like Paul says, we've one God and one Lord (a minimum of two divine beings), no remember what percentage genuine divine beings there are. Jesus turned right into a monolater, no longer a monotheist -- a lot less a Trinitarian.

Protestants believe the Holy Scriptures as written in the Bible. We only accept Jesus Christ as the head of the Church and NOT some wicked man. (read history of the popes on wikipedia). We dont believe in praying to dead people either, as the scriptures tell us not to, as this is whichcraft.
We dont believe that Peter was a pope. He was never in Rome anyway, he was married, he was also the apostle to the Jews, Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles and he WAS in Rome!
We dont believe in the priests magic hocus pocus, making his "god" do as he tells him and come into a bit of bread.
Our God is a mighty God and will NOT be told what to do by anyone. God sets the rules NOT man.
We dont believe in praying to statues or even having idols or icons in our homes. we dont have crucifixes where the Rcs always keep their "god" permenantly fixed to a cross.
We dont believe in paying to go to heaven, i.e. purgatory, which is a gold mine for the Rc church and the selling of indulgences. We believe Christ died once and for all, and that is a FREE GIFT so no man can boast.
We believe in the Scriptures alone and NOT the made up traditions of men.
We dont believe in the confessional box, where priests have used this many times to extract information from people. i.e. during the war, and also they have had affairs with many women and even children who have attended arricular confession!
We believe that Jesus had other brothers and sisters, as that is what the bible tells us.
We believe in salvation by grace and NOT by works.
And much much more!

Yes, they believe that Jesus is 1/3 of the Godhead. The Trinity (Godhead) consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Protestants believe in praying only to God (the Trinity)... they do not pray to dead saints, or dead family members, or to Mary.... they pray only to God. And yes, when we say "God" we are referring to the "One" with "Three Equal Parts". Jesus is most definitely God.

No, they do not. They believe that the president of the US is God. They believe everything their parents tell them, like the good boys and girls they are, and they don't believe in questioning authority or anything else unless they feel like you don't want them to read the bible at city hall or something.
