Because true love never dies, if it was real then they'll always be in your heart.

I know what you mean! I also have an old love that I have tried and tried to just let go of but all these years later, I still can't let go. Well I think that thier are people that we have realationships with that we make a real and true connection with. That person that we just seem to fit with. And for some reason you break up and go your seperate ways, but that connection is still thier. I am not sure what it means and beleive me I know how it can hurt. But I beleive that there is a reason for everything and for some reason that person is no longer in your life, maybe they will be again someday, or maybe they came into your life just to show you something that you have not been able to see just yet!

7 years later; may be in your current relationship things aren't really were you want them to be and you can't help but reminence. I occassionally think about various old loves of mines but when I get to thinking why we are no longer together I immediately begin to think that was the best thing because it was apparent and obvious I was not getting what I felt I deserved and it just wasn't cool or fit for me to stay in those situations.

In your heart you may feel that you still love that person and its normal. Occassionally you may even wonder what if???? you two could be together???? But there are reasons and seasons for everything and 7 years back may not have been yalls time.

That depends on what cause the break up .If it was you , your sorry you messed up a relationship .If it was his fault , your haven't allowed yourself to heal . If it was due to death there might be the I should have , could have , blaming yourself .And years. he is not nor are you the same .And apart you didn't adjust together with the changes .If you haven't seen each other that person in your eyes hasn't aged .Memories are for quiet times. Try to feel the void with a newer situation .It's okay to look back , but usaully things were nicer back then , rather the todays facts we faced .The past isn't more loved than tomorrow can be , it depends on you !

As much as we would like to, it is very hard to forget about people that you have loved. There are so many things that we have to learn to live with and memories of an old love is one of them. Sometimes, it is a song we hear on the radio, it could be a fragrance, or even a familiar face that often stimulates these memories. It has nothing to do with you or the person you are with. It's life. Don't be so hard on yourself. Many other people are dealing with the same thing.

I was in love with an ex for 10 years. 10 years I wished I had made diffrent choices. 10 years of wondering.

Well, it paid off in the end. One day, we just ran into one another and started talking. Turned out he felt the same way, and 2 years later, we are talking about marriage.

For me, the answer to why I felt that way was because he and I were meant to be together. It may be diffrent for you, but I wish you the best in finding out why you feel that way!!

Because the old love obviously made a deep impression on you & it's something that's not easily forgotten. You apparently loved/love and/or admire something special about him, very much, otherwise you wouldn't still think about him so strongly. He may have a good quality about him that you're needing in your life... Example>>> I'm not so patient, but my hubby is patient. I admire that about him, a LOT.

That actually happened to me. And, I was in another relationship.
We actually got back together (well, kind of) and the spark was gone.

Was always glad that we were together that one time because it proved to me that what we DID have at one time was no longer there for either one of us.

I always remembered the good times and forgetting there was a reason why we were not still together.

maybe there was something you never quite resolved with this person....... or maybe it's been so long now you can only remember the good parts and so this person has become like a 'fantasy', perfect partner figure for you.

as soon as you close that door another one will open.

i think it's probably time to let go.

Don't worry about it, that was just probably just an important relationship to you. I still think about a love that was over five years ago, my first Love, actually. That really just means that he wasn't just some fling for you to brush off of your shoulders.
