It depends on your level of action while playing the game. If you play light and hesitate a lot between directions, it is unlikely that you will notice any great change, but if you play light rather fluidly and consistently for 30+ minutes a week, it is possible that you could lose some weight in the process. To further the effects, you could always try eating better, eating smaller portions, eating slower, and adding more physical activity to your regimen.

A couple months ago, I started doing 30-40 minutes of DDR, and 30-40 minutes of walking, on alternate days. I definitely have been losing weight. I think one reason is that DDR is fun, so you're more likely to stick with it. I've tried exercise DVDs too but so far haven't found one that I really like, so I never stick with them.
If it gets you up and moving for a while, you'll probably lose weight, and if you enjoy it, you're more likey to keep doing it. Good luck!

If it gets you moving and your heart rate is elevated for 30 minutes or so.... I'd say yes you could lose weight playing the game. I know someone who lost 30 pounds playing DDR and eating right. You can't do one without the other. Good luck !

Now as for dropping weight, I reccomend taking area in on a confusing pad perferably at an arcade. The further weight out of your footwear and the confusing tiles that you stomp on make you workout consultation more advantageous, compared to creating use of a tender pad. For the time period, bypass for about 1/2-hour an afternoon purely to commence (be effective you drink a range of of water). once you body and stamina will enhance, gradually bypass as a lot as more advantageous sturdy songs and a million hour classes. attempt some nonstop classes besides, they particularly provide you a workout consultation and a mission. although works for you, purely be effective you've relaxing with it! haha . you can definitely loose weight playing ddr, but you have to play it for a couple of hours and almost every day. what motivates you is that you want to get better. what keeps you energetic is the music. in the end, your grade gets better and your weight drops, and your more energetic

yes i've lost in the range of 5-10 lbs, but i have a horrible college dite so i gain it back
got friends that play it like a religion and well they are slim as hell

If you play it hard, not necessarily on hard, but play it vigorously, maybe 30 min a day, and it will help.

sure.. why not? i use to have this game which counts your calories.. but that was on PS1 so i switched to PS2 and then, i continued on DDR.. and it works.. but it takes a longer time..
