Well my dad isn't because after my parents got divorced when I was 7 my sister adn I lived with him then when he couldnt' handle us he shipped us back to my mom. When I was 9 I moved back in with him...he was living with his mom (my grandma)...he'd go to work, come home...sometimes...then go to his girlfriends or to the bar. I was hardly ever with him. When I was 11 he died in a car accident on New Years Eve - Day. He had a blood alcohol level of 2.72 nearly 3 times the legal limit and he passed out and ran into a house.
My mom is the greatest! A couple years after the divorce my mom bought her own place...it was a fixer upper mobile home. After my dad died she sold that place since she now needed more room...she bought a starter home with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. It was very nice! She paid for it by herself and she put herself through medical assisting school and she doesn't drink and she doesn't cuss and she pretty much never loses her temper even though there were times when I definately would have...and most of all she has never given up on me or my sister no matter what we did. She doesn't drink, sleep around, or do anything bad. She knows when to be a friend and when to be the mom. Shes the perfect mom and I can only hope that one day I will be just as great a mom as she is!

Dad yes! Mum was a stripper! No wonder they got divorced... my Mum is not a nice person to know... it's sad that isn't it... she is going to be a very lonely old lady one day... i've not spoken to her for three years, bar last week... i thought i'd see how things are... coz i do worry... but she just bangs on about so much stuff that does my head in... i can't trust her... she has ripped of her own family with stuff i don't want to go into...

My Dad on the other hand... never backs down to anything... a real winner...

Even when Q.V.C. shopping channel, employed him... he left his job of 20 years as an accountant... only to be told the day he arrived... his services where not needed!!!

He nearly had heart attack... but bounced back big time... oh and sued there azzes! for a lot of money...

Never buy from Q.V.C.!!!

Not really, my dad was an alcoholic, my mum was constantly arguing about the drink, but If I knew then what I knew now I would never of followed their path. I just wished I'd taken responsibility for my life & just let them get on with it. But I still love them. I guess they had their own inner issue's that just wern't dealt with, I lost my Dad 8 years ago now & now Im older I can see why he had a drink problem and so I forgave him & let go of the past judgements I made, after all who are we to judge. I believe our parents do the best they can or they have issue's that are not being delt with or the worst case, they are just being selfish. Live your life with truth & integrety.

Yes both my parents were very good role models. I wish I could be just half as smart and wise as they were.

My parents were great role models--both are now deceased. They taught me to be strong, creative/imaginative, loving, responsible, honest, and trustworthy--your word is your bond. They taught me respect. Sometimes, these lessons/attributes were instilled with a "hairbrush"...but more often, by example. They seemed to be opposites in a lot of ways and yet they loved each other deeply--they "completed each other" in truth.
