When I do any kind of exercise that involves jumping, I get a burning feeling in my sides, ribs, and upper chest (meaning it feels like something's lodged in my trachea). I've tried working through it, hoping it would go away eventually, but it doesn't. This is NOT normal working-your-muscles kind of pain. Does anyone know why it happens and how I can stop it?

well there are many possible reaons, but i would go with a previous injury or accident which can cause your body to go into a ""protective mode"" meaning your muscles when traumatized develope a memory... like when you jam your finger there is a certain degree you can't move it without feeling some sensatoin, that might be your case, the burning might be some nerve issues within layers of muscle, but again it could be anything check with your doctor as soon as possible and next time b4 you exercise if you have not done this already, warm up with some cardio increase blood flow and do stretches, remain hydrated, then go do your activity, and see if you have the same issue.

Go see a doc.
Don't overdo it.
How does burning feeling in your sides have something to do with your trachea?
You may have hayfever/rhinitis or asthma - so better check your doc before doing any more exercise.

Something sounds really wrong there - almost sounds like something is loose inside of you. You didn't have any surgery did you, i know it's rare but occasionally surgeons sew up scissors or something inside you. I agree with the others, you NEED to get to a doctor and get professional help - no one here can help you (unless they're a doctor).

Homeopathy :-
Take ARNICA 200C and BRYONIA 200C half hour prior to going out for any exertion or exercise, you can take it after coming back from the workout too if you. Report back with your progress after three days.
Take Care and God Bless !
