Yes, the people can decriminalize drug use and provide alcohol drug abuse counseling, therapy, housing, medical treatment with educational and employment opportunities for those who are successfully into recovery.
Sound expensive, will we are not talking about just giving drugs out the backdoor. I worked for a non-profit that does a great job with this considerably less money than a profit type company can do, and the non-profit can do it better.
Most of the Case Managers can be Peer-Counselor with Professional Supervision.
Just think about all the money we will save if prison space is opened up, the cost of Policing these problems are lowered, and you can start shutting down the War On Drugs because it is a giant dollar drain. I guarantee the results would be absolutely fantastic.
If you don't believe me, get some information on a non-profit named Swords To Plowshares in San Francisco. Ask for the Manager Michael Blecker.

YES!! First of all we can start raising our children more responsibly, which means we have to act more responsibly, and part of that does require we not only support but promote our Law Enforcement personnel in doing their jobs. My son-in-law is a WONDERFUL officer in a nearby town, and he's been in charge of SWAT teams and undercover work on drugs and prostitution, etc., and it irks me to no end when we have the news media printing complaints about his men's efforts after they close down a drug house. And when we whine and complain about how much more money they need to bolster their efforts to provide us with the police protection we whine so bad that we need, it nauseates me to no end. Yeah, it cost money to do that work. Did we think all the radar and communications and police cars and officer training were free??!!!! What a stupid thought. And if we openly and publicly not only supported them but promoted them in their efforts, we could get our neighborhoods back. And if we behaved more responsibly and in a Christian manner, the drug dealers could be out of business a lot sooner than is the common thinking today. I thank you for your insightful question. God Bless you.
