do you mean the Son of God as in Jesus Christ? it has to do with the Trinity. There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, but they are all one God.

The word "son" in the new testament is the Greek word "Huios" which primarily signifies the relation of offspring to parent. The same word is used for the Son of God.
