seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and after that all things will be given unto you.
have you sought the kingdom?
Jam 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Jam 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jam 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Jam 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Jam 4:5 Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Jam 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jam 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jam 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jam 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

It may help you to read or reread the book of Job. The story of what Job went through, why he went through it, and what he learned in the process may be of help to you. The story of Job provides a Biblical example of what can happen to the most saintly of God’s followers. A genuine hero of faith will testify to Christ’s goodness, even in the midst of adversity.
Christians often have a tendency to think "I did everything right, so why is God punishing me now." In other words, because they thought they were doing what God wanted them to, they believed they would be sheltered from the rough spots of life. How can this concept be true if Satan is throwing every trial he can at the Christian to bring him or her down. Satan does not play fair and you can be sure that previous deeds will not make a bit of difference in the downtrodden Christian’s life. The only element that will provide sustaining power for a Christian is complete faith. This is the faith that the martyrs embraced when they were killed for their beliefs. It is the same type of faith that supports the Christian when it appears there is no way out of a dreadful situation.
Hang in there, and trust HIm! He will NEVER leave you or forsake you. You have His Word on that.

God doesn't micromanage our lives. He doesn't even reward on an individual basis for the most part. He gave us a world, we as a people have used it or abused it and have reaped, as a species, the consequences. You suffer the consequences of our society's choices, your parent's choices, and your own choices.
Have you checked your grades in school lately? Looked at your behavior with your boss? Checked to see if your work is worthy of a letter of recommendation or reference?
Or are you simply ignoring the lack of good grades, the poor relationship with bosses, the lack of effort at work, etc. in order to comfort yourself with how "unfair life and god are"?
Seems kind of self-destructive.
Educated? How much? You know as we all do that more pays more.
Work hard? Would your boss say the same thing? Do you have letters of recommendation?
Ask God? Why? Why not just do what you have to to get a better job? God's doesn't give handouts.
Why do you expect one from him? What have you given God that he really needs? You mean because you've been "Good" he has to give you what you want?
If my daughter did that, I'd say, "No, and because of your poor attitude, I wouldn't expect it any time soon."
God doesn't owe you this. No one does. Make the effort, educate yourself on how, and do it.
Oh, a good reference, in the library if you can't afford to buy it:
What Color Is Your Parachute.
Read it. Learn how to get the job you want.
Or not, but then don't blame anyone or whine when it doesn't happen.
God is trying to teach you to do for yourself instead of begging God or anyone else for a handout.

You sound like me! I do the same. First of all, times are hard right now and there are more people looking for work than there are good jobs available.
The right job WILL come along. It's just a case of where and when.
What type of work are you looking for? Are you looking at the right type of jobs? Could it be that you are seekng the wrong type of work?
It sounds like you are searching for some good answers to a challenging question. What do you want out of life?
I encourage you to check out the following websites and see if perhaps you are looking at the right type of job for you.

God isn't trying to teach you anything because god doesn't exist. There are unfortunately a lot of people that work hard and can't get good enough jobs. Don't give up though, keep trying.
"Telling myself how much worse other people have it doesn't work anymore."
I agree. I think it's important to know that there are people suffering in the world but, you shouldn't use that to justify you not doing better. Just because your better off than some people doesn't mean you're not allowed to do better for yourself, that's just silly rationalizing.
Good luck, I hope you find your dream job!

God is teaching you faith-
As I read your question something popped in my mind about your situation here
In order to recieve you must give. Have you been faithful in your giving?
Did you give your 10% to the Lord when you had the money-
God promises that he will poor out blessings from heaven when we give as his word tells us to.
Another part of this is Faith and Patients-
God does not have a clock in the Psalms David says one day is like a thousand years to God-
So you must be patient.
I know this because we were stuck just like you-
What I did was ask God how to get through this until his blessings come
I prayed and prayed
I studied the bible like mad
I went to Church and sang the praise songs
However nothing I did moved God
So with very little money I decided to give.
I choose a ministry that feeds poor children in NYC
I did this because Jesus said in the Bible to be truly religious is to take care of the orphans and the widows.
So thats what I intended to do.
We gave money that we needed for our bills, but to me I had no choice. I know faith is not just believing. Faith is always an action. So acting on faith by giving money God knew I needed was an act.
Well a few weeks later our whole life is changed and God blessed us week by week and our bills became less and less.Of coarse this did not happen over nite. But since then my lack of need was fulfilled. Forget what you need and give to God
No Joke- It really worked. Jesus said Give and it shall be given to you
My car was almost repoed and we had to search the house for loose change for gas to get to work. Our utilities were shut off twice. Our credit was ruined and I had bill collectors calling day and night.
But since my husband and I stepped out in faith God took care of the rest.
Now we live in Florida. My husband was offered a great high paying job and my business is florishing.
You cant give a million away untill you learn to give your first dollar!

I totally understand. My family has lived in poverty my entire life, dispite the fact that my parents are educated and work very hard to make a living. Unfortunately, we can't understand God fully, and sometimes stuff happens that we don't get. Read Job. Don't foget, though, remember what Jesus said "Thou shalt not put the Lord your God to the test." Keep in mind that you've already been given way more than you deserve (we all have). "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away." Stay strong, man. I'll pray for you.

Where did you get the idea that education is the key to success? The book of Genesis tells us that it is mans lot to succeed by the sweat of our labors. Are you above such because you are, ahem, educated? Go into construction, if indeed you are smart you can become a inspector of construction sites and serve others as how things must be done to last more than twenty years. The shortage of honest inspectors is phenomenal.

I have felt like you on many occasions. But I guess the thing is you are asking God for more but can you take care of the more. In order for God to give you more you must appreciate the little that you have. And you must be sure that what you are asking God for is what God wants you to have. Just pray that His will be done in your life and keep your faith. Don't give up and don't give in. All that God has for you will come in good time. Just be patient.

Have you prayed to God, for him to lead you to the right job? If you feel you are being pulled another way don't ignore it. Do what God asks in the beginning and all will work out. So do that first, ask him what job you should be seeking.
Next pray to him to help you find the right location to work in the job you feel he has led you to. One step at a time.
