The church of the early centuries changed the Sabbath. No the church of the apostles, but the church of the centuries after the apostles died. The Roman Catholic Church brags that they changed it under their own authority.

Catholic Church. Here is a direct quote taken from their writings.
Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The Day of the Lord" (dies Dominica) was chosen, not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power. The day of resurrection, the day of Pentecost, fifty days later, came on the first day of the week. So this would be the new Sabbath. People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." The original Sabbath always was the seventh day of the lunar month. From the time of Adam until the fall of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, the First Crescent had always declared the beginning of the lunar month, marking every seventh day the Sabbath of the month (7th day, 14th, 21st and 28th).

After the fall of the Second Temple (70CE) and the Bar Koba revolt (125CE), the Jewish population were forced from the land of Israel by the Romans, breaking their reliance on the Pharisees and the Kohanim to declare the lunar month.

It was Hillel II who is credited with the creation of the modern Jewish calendar, based upon calculation rather than visual sighting of the first cresent. When Hillel developed the new calendar, he incorporated the Roman work week, there by replacing the lunar week and establishing Saturday as the new Sabbath. Then it was years later that the Catholic Church changed their Sabbath to Sunday as not to seem to copy the Jewish Sabbath.

Before Hillel used the Roman work-week in the new Jewish Calendar, the Sabbath would land on various different days on a monthly cycle. This is because the Lunar Calendar and the Roman calendar are based on two different set of calculations - the Roman is based on the solar year and the Lunar is based on the moon's monthly orbit.

Since the world used and accepted the Roman work week, the Jewish lunar calendar was frowned upon. Most likely because of this, Hillel based his lunar calculations with the Roman work-week as the standard week. Thus eliminating the use of the Lunar seventh day (true Sabbath) and replacing it with the Roman Saturday (the modern sabbath).

Many rabbis know of this problem and are only waiting until a new Sanhedrin would put the original Lunar calendar back into use. Though one problem will remain, the use of the Roman work-week. It is hoped that they will learn of the seventh-day Sabbath of the lunar calendar and completely stop using the Roman work-week.

The Sabbath has always been abd still is on Saturday. It was a day to rest and remember that God freed the Israelites from the slavery of the Egyptians
Deut. 5:15 15And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
It is the only commandments that Jesus the Christ did not reafirm and in fact He stated that the sabbath was mande for man not man mande for the sabbath
Mark 2:27 27And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
As Christians we celebrate Sunday, the Lord's Day, because that is the day that Jesus the Christ rose from the dead.
So we take this day to rest and remember that our God, Jesus the Christ delivered us from the slavery of sin

Here is the simple, short answer:

It has been Saturday since the creation. In the year 323, at the Council of Nicea, the Christians made an alliance with and recruited more people. Since they worshipped the sun, the compromise was that they would accept Christ and the Sabbath would be "moved" to Sunday.

The Sabbath is still on Saturday, it has never been changed. Even though Christians worship on Sunday......Saturday is still the Sabbath because it is the 7th day of the week. "On the seventh day God rested." That is why we have the Sabbath on Saturday.

God says He is the same yesterday, today and forever more.
not one jot or tittle of His law will be changed until Heaven and Earth pass away. Have Heaven and earth passed away? Man has tried to changed the Sabbath but the Sabbath cannot be changed by any mere man. Because a person gets others to follow them, doesn't mean something has been changed. It just means he talked a good game. God is looking for people that will be obedient to Him not to man. If Baal be God follow him, but if God be God then follow Him but choose ye this day whom ye shall serve.

The Jewish and Biblically established Sabbath falls on Saturday. However, during one of the more embarrassing parts of church history, the early Catholic church decided they wanted to change it to Sunday because of growing tensions between the Catholic church and the Jews. Although many modern Christians are aware of this fact, most believe that it is pretty much a moot point and too unimportant for such a traditionally established occasion to be changed.

What you are asking is "The Sabbath Day was commanded by God to be kept forever--who changed that?" The answer is MAN changed it! But does MAN have authority to CHANGE the COMMANDS of GOD? Please!--Of course not!
