I'm an atheist, I don't hate Christians.
When people get in my face and tell me I'm going to Hell, I get annoyed.
I don't like hypocrites, people who profess to be Christians and don't follow the teachings of Christ. Or those who tell me how I must lead MY life and then get busted for some sex or drug scandal.
I do hate the folks who use the Bible to preach hate messages, like the Westburro Baptists who show up at military funerals with their "God Hates Fags" signs.
If you're a good friend, a good neighbor, a good person, I don't care who you pray to or whether you pray at all.

Sure, some atheists might, but no more than any other types of groups which doesn't believe in the same things.
I simply pity Christians, because I believe most of them are only following the religions their families followed. Many people never question their faith, and choose to be ignorant to facts which they can only explain as "God works in mysterious ways" or "Faith in God is all I need."
Such explanations don't satisfy my knowledge, and I choose not to remain ignorant if there is an answer which explains some natural or human phenomenom better than "Just give it all to God."
With that in mind, I respect everyone's religion probably better than most religious people, because I have accepted that I don't have all the answers, and most religious people believe their way is the right (and usually only) way. When I hear of someone "finding God" after questioning him in the first place, I am excited for them. They have ultimately taken a similar path to my own and chose for themselves that God must be the reason for everything. However, when I see others, who have never even considered other ideas, I am not angry with them. I only feel pity.

There is a large minority of chrisitans that see it as their life-long duty to shove their religious views down everyone's throat no matter if they want to hear it or not. Some people don't like being told their beliefs are wrong or told the other stuff chrisitians love saying about the afterlife. If chrisitans would just respect other point of view and stop being completely annoying they wouldn't have so many people hate them.
Myself I am a christian but other chrisitians really annoy me when they go around spouting off all their garbage and won't shut up and leave everybody alone.

Atheists don't hate Christians any more than Christians hate Jews or Jews hate Muslims. Everyone has the potential for hate within them but that doesn't mean that everyone's like that.
If you're writing a book about hate among religious groups, you don't need testimony from people on this site. There is a world of documented evidence whose reliability isn't in question.
If your book is specifically regarding atheism and hatred of Christians, then don't bother.

You seem like the kind of person who would intentionally create an untactful question to derive the desired responses, but in case you didn't do that on purpose, you shouldn't make the generality that Atheists hate Christians, implying of course that ALL Atheists hate Christians. The fact is, on both sides of the table, people turn their powerful convictions into hate for the opposition, which is uncool and hypocritical on the Christian side.

I'm a Christian. I don't hate my atheist son, nor do I despair over him. I believe God created and loves him and I trust God.
In the community I live in there is a large, superchurch, very fond of proclaiming how Christian they are. I think they show that they hate atheists because they have no tolerance for opinions other than their own. The atheists around here (and quite a few members of other Christian churches despise the superchurch right back.
It's astounding how much hate and disrespect is being indulged in and attributed to people's belief in Christ, as well as people's non-belief in Christ.
All in all, I believe in God the Trinity and not much else.

I am Christian and I don't think they do. People get very passionate when they want to prove their way is right, and both Christians, Athiests, or any religion can become overly competitive sometimes. Often to the point where it is alien and scary, but people should always hold their ground, because after all, everyone reacts to their feelings differently. The best thing to do is not let other's words hurt your beliefs, because true faith and love will always be with you and never bend, no matter what someone says, and how often they say it, or how they present it.
God Bless You ♥

mostly it is the ones who have back slid that have such a problem with Christians ether they thank hurting us or puting us down some how gets back at god, or they are mad or jealous of us and what we have cause satin has told them them that they can never go back "he speaks only lies"

The same reason anyone hates any religion! They do not understand and they fear, which breeds hate. Also, I don't think Atheists hate anyone anymore than any other group. In this case we are speaking of people who do not believe in God, or the afterlife. It really makes no difference what you believe, as long as one stays positive and learns patience, love, self-control, and peaceful living! Cooperation is the Key to living, keeping in mind that one should NEVER force his Will upon another!

atheists and christians have different orientations, so it's natural that some atheists might hold grudges against them.
i'm a christian but i do not blame the atheists just bcoz they do not believe in a supreme being, but on science, etc. differences are bound to be in the society. evry1's free.
instead, i do not like a class of christians- they are such ppl who keep on boasting abt FAITH FAITH n FAITH, but amidst this faith they forget abt the actions that they need to do for their religion. they can be annoying. getting me?
faith in the holy trinity doesn't alone matter, what matters is how u are to ur brethren.
hey, even i'm working on a story by the way. my topic is partly religious.
