Do you have a cat pet ,just observe it what it likes and nots and when it starts liking you,its got the same instincts as in females do!!!Thats how u will know!!!

No ignoring them is only going to make them want you more. The only way you can really tell this guy that your not interested is to just tell him straight out. In a nice calm way, tell him that you are not up for the dating scene right now and leave it at that.
If that does not come to your conclusion, send a nice e-mail explaining in a short letter that you are simply NOT interested. Agree to still be friends but not lovers.
The truth is the only thing that will set you free and set you at ease.

I just make very obvious signs, like avoiding being touched by him and getting too friendly. If I'm not interested, he'll know.

When she says she will think about it, or delays the answer. Maybe she likes your company but just as a friend.

I'd tell him that i like him but only as a friend. or that i didn't want to go in a relationship or else it would ruin our friendship.

other than ignoring them, I try to change conversations and use body language and facial expressions as a hint that i'm not interested to them. so far, my tactics are effective. (smile)

not flirting with him, talking about other guys, not answering your calls or hanging out as much especially if she found out you like her. its usually pretty obvious but if you dont know ask her
