The prerequisite would be to prove how much they want to be here, They can be sent off to Iraq for a 2 year minimum to fight for the country they want to call their own, if they succeed "welcome" who agrees?

Thats not a bad idea. I doubt many of them would do that. They sneak in so easily now anyway.... But it we could inforce that somehow, i'd vote for it.
People need to stop complaining that we arent letting them in, we could be like japan and only allow a certain number in each year.

The "prerequisite" for their being allowed or welcomed to stay in this country is that they not come here illegally. There's a very straightforward way to do that, and they are called "illegals" because they try to get something for nothing. Whether they get sent to Iraq for military service, for any amount of time, is what young American men have been doing for decades, and we're already citizens here. As a matter of fact, my son is in Iraq as we speak, for his second tour of duty, and he was born to two American citizens, here in Texas. So, if we do that already, why is giving them a chance to do that all of a sudden a prerequisite for making them legal. All they have to do is follow the law, and then we'll let them fight in our military matters any time they can. God Bless you.

That is just ridiculous. First of all, it assumes that to be an American you have to support the US's imperialist wars of aggression. Secondly, what about women and children and people who are too old to serve in the military? Thirdly, any such program would be tantamount to press ganging immigrants into the US military, which I am pretty sure violates the thirteenth amendment to the Constitution. I haven't heard a worse idea in quite awhile.

ive got a feeling you wouldnt fight for a massage table ,,and they are free to die ,so you can be a diva on the beach ,,heres a clue i was in the army for 6 years ,and a lot of the poor fools in there with me,, were from columbia and cuba and germany and korea and so on ,,,they were becoming citizens from the service its already in place now,, in the time of viet nam they would give youth offenders the choice of war or prison ,,,and they went and died over a petty crime ,,and the poor and the black served and died ,,,and deferments went to rich and the college kids ,,and im poor and watched a massive amount of folks go to war and die for no purpose,,, fighting beside someone trying to be free ,,great idea ,,,fighting all the groups in iraq ,,insipidly stupid ,,,we are dieing for the french and german pipeline ,,that cheney and bush and the saudis want ,,,its about freedom of profits ,,,read a book or a newspaper

Your proposition is already taking place in the Armed Forces. We have many resident aliens and illegals in the services trying to earn citizenship.

i do not agree. they should have to pay fines, be in the army for 4 years, not 2. they also should have a felony on their record, because they ARE CRIMINALS. i am against illegals

Good! I also suggest all those redneck springbreakers who come to our resorts be forced to eat back the puke they leave on our beaches. And for every single springbreaker that throws the TV set out their room window, one should also be thrown out through the same window. If they survive, "welcome", who agrees?
