Not any longer. As a matter of fact, Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds.

My church has sent mission teams to China twice in the past two years to teach and distribute bibles and help set up new home churches. The Chinese people are eager to learn.

I feel China would say no, that the people are free to worship as they please, but then why are so many Christians thrown in jail for no other reason than simply being a Christian? Why is there a need to have an underground church in a country that claims freedom of religion? Why are so many Christians killed for having faith in Jesus Christ?

There are allot of Christians in China and a few churches too. I remember in Shenyang there is a large very old Catholic church in the center of the city. They hold regular masses. It appears the government is becoming less strict regarding religion as time is passing.

Todays Christianity is is prohibited in the bible itself,
What christians dont follow that the bible preaches is ,
1. God is but one and I am a messenger of god. My father in heaven is our father who likes righteous people. (gospel of Barnabe)
2. If someone slaps you on one cheek Give him the other, (Mark, Luke(john and Matthews.)
just these two versus are enough to prove that practised christianity of today is prohibited by the bible itself. et alone china.
which means the ungodly people have done God a favour.

The belief system itself is not illegal. However, it is the fact that a bunch of Christians form an organized group that make it illegal. It has nothing to do with it being a belief; it has to do with the opportunity for any group to form with power and rise up against the government.

i live here and all of this not true. there is a church down the street from my apartment. I'm not religious but I talk about religion in school at the request of my students and bosses. Many things are changing here so maybe 20 -30 years ago it was disliked but not today.

they have government sanctioned churches. I seen a Catholic-style one (just Catholic-ish since they don't recognize the Pope) on Dateline once. People aren't allowed to freely print or distribute religous texts there so....

No, but really yes.....
