Jus want to know, I see so many questions about religions, and so much negative talk about God or doubt. I find it hard to believe that people can still be this hateful, I am a recovering addict, and I got high and still knew that God was the way to go, I just wanted to do what I wanted, and I did not want to hurt--people that do not get high or have never gotten high-I just wonder what is their problem with GOD

I guess that people who hate God have never really known Him.

I was a full blown son of satan, though I had been raised as a believer, I too wanted to Sex drugs Rock and Roll and rejected my parents and their teaching. I didn't want to be like them.

Anyhow, I was listening to Handel's Messiah and was interested in the words...

Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isa 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isa 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

well, it made my heart burn to even think of it. I knew it was Him in me. So I repented, believing the scriptures were from him, and He has rewarded me every step of the way.

I was as good as buried in a federal prison (I did 30 years)and he picked me up, way up to ride upon his shoulders (like the Josh Groban song "You raise me up"...http://www.goldinc.com/~lizzie/momscd/) from the bottom of a solitary cell behing locked doors and barbed wire fences and armed guards. He taught me obedience to Him means obedience to the authorities. I stopped dope because he showed me it as a terrible bondage. It's been great; a little tough, growing up finally, but it's still great.

What's people's problem with God? I dunno. I guess they're angry about some of their hurts and blame God...

Happy you're whole now, keep on being thankful for it all.

loved your question.

Alot of people use the excuse that because there is so much evil in this world that there mustn't be a God.... but they are looking at it in completely the wrong way. I have experienced and seen many great evils in this world, but I have never found anything to disprove Gods existance.... for there to be such great evil in this world then people must realise that there must also be great good. The media and our schooling system trys to teach us that there is no God. The media doesn't tell us the good going on in the world.... they seek out the depressing and the scary. We teach Evolution at schools, we teach our children that they are nothing but animals. Creation science has disproven Evolution science on numerous occations.... Evolution has never been scientifically proven, they just want you to believe that. The storys in the bible have been scientifically proven, there was a world wide flood. I believe that creation science is the key to understanding and knowing God. People also don't believe miracles happen anymore... they do, they just don't get put on the front page of the Daily Telegraph.

Does anyone Read the Bible or believe anything that is in it? Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?

I just wanted to do what I wanted! this is the root of why people have issues with God. No one likes to be told they are wrong.

The scoffer denies God & attacks Christians Because;
If God is Real and the Bible is true then WE will be liable to God.
so they deny God as if denial voids truth.

even the courts know, Ignorance of the Law is not a defense.

People are cruel. But God is really real, I feel his power everyday. Sometimes in the midst of a storm he will answer, sometimes you can just cry out to him kneeling in his presence and feel the greatest feeling like he is reviving your soul at the very moment. People get worse everyday, we all have problems, so don't be surprised hearing those types of things. It really does hurt when people make fun of God or Christians in general, but looking past what they say and continuing to trust God really feels great. Everyone has a equal chance to accept Jesus, and no one is better than the next. I believe the Bible, and you just reminded me that I need to read it on a daily basis. Jesus is the greatest. Thanks, and be encouraged, don't let what people say discourage you.

Hard to say, because I'm sure each person has their own reasons for having a negative attitude toward God. It confuses me. I was raised in an agnostic household by smoking, drinking, partying parents who never took me to church (really, not even once), but I can remember that from a very young age (under six) I believed in God and as soon as I got a children's Bible (The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes, I remember loving it so much I got it for my own children) and could read it, I believed it. It really never occurred to me that it might not be true. Fortunately for me, my parents were a-religious rather than anti-religious.

Their PROBLEM with GOD is that they have no life,no education,no manners,no respect for themselves, and enjoy boasting about it! For so many to disbelieve that GOD IS,they sure act like He is the biggest threat in their life! One doesn't make such lame, stupid, wasteful comments about someone unless they truly feel threatened by the other person's POWER! And for the record,I am not amused, threatened,or worried about the retarded stupidity of those comments poking fun at GOD. And neither is HE. They really should get out and do something with their life, instead of being a "cry-baby" about why "Life is so cruel to me"! Grow up. GOD loves you,but He is not mocked forever. I'm a science major in college and I believe in God. i believe that people have doubt in God because something bad happens in their life and they have to blame somebody and no body wants to blame themselfs for their own mistakes. Science proves that God exist. Plus no matter what faith someone is. All religions go back to being good verus evil in away. And religon has been around for centuries. It wasn't just made up the other day

I read the bible as a lifestyle (over and over again) and YES I BELIEVE EVERYTHING IT SAYS! And yes, Jesus became sin for us - he took the punishment for OUR sins.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Psalm 53:1

Those who do not believe there is a God are fools. Those that do believe there is a God, but don't believe in the God of the Bible have been blinded.

II Corinthians 4 : 3,4 But if our gospel be hid,it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

I read the bible and beleive that Jesus died for the sins of the world. People have a problem with Jesus because he is Jesus. The most hated name in the world. Jesus said that because they hate him they will hate us. I'm used to it, but it doesn't shake my faith.

Jesus did die for our sins, but most people have a problem with it because if we were right that would mean they are wrong, so they hate him and us. The most important thing is to never let your faith get shakin because its your free gift for etiernity

God Bless!
