It's basic philosophy is to be selfish, live only for yourself and your own happiness and discard anyone in your life that negatively affects that quest. Read Dianetics by L Ron Hubbard, Scientology's founder. He claims to have travelled in outer space. I'm surprised there are intelligent followers of this modern day "religion"!

It is a man-made religion based on science fiction. The noted author Isaac Asimov knew L. Ron Hubbard personally and has told the account of how Hubbard planed to become rich and powerful through making up his own religion.
