It sounds vaugly like Touretts syndrome, but I have heard of nervous switches. Some people get them becuase there brains interpret stress differently some people who experiance anxierty get physical responses to anxiety like stomach ache, head ache or even twitching. I belive its called Somatization (sp?).
It could be caused by an underlying medical condition and you should get a medical workup before seeing a psychologist
