Why is idolatory so wrong when hindus are more tolerant towards men and animals alike more so than christians and muslims! It helps a person focus. Even christians have photos of christ and the cross itself, is that not idolising?. I know for a fact. Muslims put photos of kaba in their homes. Even the quran and bible is used as a focal point wrapped in special cloth. Is that not idolatory afterall it is an inanimate object?

White falcon how can you say your prayers are directed to god and the kaba is only a focal point! and the hindu prayers are not. The hindus see the presence of god in all things in everything. There is no difference between praise and worship. Don't we all praise god for his unique status as the supreme being! I think its all propaganda of islamists and christians alike to destroy eastern religions who encourage self realisation and not materialism!

the quaran, the book itself is sacred. the bible....the words are what is sacred....not the pieces of paper....I mean I would make notes on the sides of it during Scripture class all the time. I am Catholic and I hear about how other Christians say that Catholics worship Mary, and that we idolize statues...we do not.....we pray to them for help....and the presence of a statue makes prayer more focused. Mary said yes to God. She is the only human besides Jesus to not have original sin. We do not worship Mary we praise her for her greatness. Just because there is a statue does not make it idolatry. If I thought the statue itself (the stone) was holy then I would be idolizing false gods.

Dear friend without going into the details of who is right and who is not what you said, as per your observation, is 100% correct. Whosoever, bows beside an image and give respect to images more than to fellow beings is involved in idol worshipping whether be that person a Muslim, Jew, Christian or Hindu.

Good question!
You may have seen people put photos of Kaba in their house, but Muslims dont bow in front of the photo or pray to the photo. The Kaba's photo is only a reminder of a duty of all Muslims which is Hajj.
The Kaba is the central point to only give Muslims a direction to pray to. It is not consider something that can answer our prayers. Our prayers are directed to God. All Muslims pray to Allah, facing in the direction of the Kaba. Meaning the where ever a Muslim may be, they all turn to face the direction of the Kaba.
On the other hand, Christians pray TO Jesus and his pictures and the cross. And the same is for the Hindus. They are called idol-worshippers because they worship the idol and pray to that idol. And therefore, there is a difference.
I'm editing my answer because I forgot to mention regarding the cloth you mentioned regarding the cover of the Bible and the Quran.
I can't speak about the Bible, but regarding the Holy Quran, we don't cover it any special cloth. It's normal cloth, to protect it from getting dirty. In the mosques, the Qurans are kept uncovered. So, there is nothing like that. The Quran is the message of God to guide us to the truth. We give it utmost respect because it contains the words of Allah. But we don't worship it.

Kaaba is the Qibla i.e. the direction Muslims face during their prayers. It is important to note that though Muslims face the Kaaba during prayers, they do not worship the Kaaba. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah.

It is mentioned in Surah Baqarah:

"We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens: now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque: wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction."
[Al-Qur’an 2:144]

1. Islam believes in fostering unity

For instance, if Muslims want to offer Salaah (Prayer), it is possible that some may wish to face north, while some may wish to face south. In order to unite Muslims in their worship of the One True God, Muslims, wherever they may be, are asked to face in only one direction i.e. towards the Kaaba. If some Muslims live towards the west of the Kaaba they face the east. Similarly if they live towards the east of the Kaaba they face the west.

2. Kaaba is at the Centre of the World Map

The Muslims were the first people to draw the map of the world. They drew the map with the south facing upwards and north downwards. The Kaaba was at the centre. Later, western cartographers drew the map upside down with the north facing upwards and south downwards. Yet, Alhamdullilah the Kaaba is at the centre of the world map.

3. Tawaaf around Kaaba for indicating one God

When the Muslims go to Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah, they perform tawaaf or circumambulation round the Kaaba. This act symbolizes the belief and worship of One God, since, just as every circle has one centre, so also there is only one Allah (swt) worthy of worship.

4. Hadith of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

Regarding the black stone, hajr-e-aswad, there is a hadith (tradition), attributed to the illustrious companion of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).

According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj, chapter 56, H.No. 675. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you".

5. People stood on Kaaba and gave the adhaan
At the time of the Prophet, people even stood on the Kaaba and gave the ‘adhaan’ or the call to prayer. One may ask those who allege that Muslims worship the Kaaba; which idol worshipper stands on the idol he worships?

To those who mentioned dargas - those Muslims are not following the Sunnah (teachings of our Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him) and are not Sunni Muslims. They are Bohras. Sunnis do not believe in these things.
Moon over the mosques has nothing to go with Idol worship. The Islamic calender follows the lunar pattern unlike the gregorian calender which is according to the sun. The moon is simply a representation of that and the thin moon is according to which we celebrate Eid.
There are some Muslims who believe 786 equals Bismillah meaning "In the name of Allah". But this is just an innovation of some people. No number can be equal to the words itself. Those people have simply been swayed and do not know the proper Islam.
As for Islam trying to eradicate eastern religions. God has created man with free will. It is upto you whether you want to follow Islam or any other religion. But He has created us with a brain to think and judge for ourselves what is right and wrong. Islam is also most prominent in the east - as far as I know anyway.
Can I clarify anything else?

I just don't like talking about Islamists on here...or anywhere really. Why is everyone so enfatuated with the Middle East? Give it a rest. I couldn't care less what they do with their religions as long as they stay where they are.

we do not Worship the Kaaba, we only turn to it to pray. It's a form of unity, All Muslims no matter where on the face of this earth are all facing the same exact direction when praying To Allah.

Muslims worship none but Allah Alone.

our creed is "There is no object worthy of worship but Allah, and Muhammad is his slave and Final Messenger"

may Allah guide you all to his strait path. ameen.

You are right. I think what bothers them the most is the amount of attention the idols receive and also...the number of idols they have.

I agree, they are so much more damn peaceful!
