Jesus was initially a personification of the logos (the cosmic christ). Later the Romans made him a historical god-man. Mainstream Christianity is based on mythology. Original christianity is also based on mythology, but unlike the ignorant and naive, they knew it.

Yes and no. Christianity already existed, but early Christians knew that Christ was not a human being who had recently lived, but rather, was an ideal. It was more like communal Buddhism than anything we know as Christianity today.
What the Romans did was to turn Jesus into a historical figure. The reason for this was so that the church could have legitimacy. After all, if Jesus was a real person who had been sent by god, and he had ordained a church and granted his authority to it through a line of succession, who could oppose the church?
...and if the church sanctioned Rome itself, who then could oppose the empire?

No. True Christianity is composed of disciples of the LORD Jesus Christ. However the Roman Catholic Church is a false "Christianity" rooted in the ancient Babylonian Mother-child cult. For more information, please visit www.tbc.org (refer to Dave Hunt's expository book, "A Woman Rides the Beast." This book is also available from Chick Publications (www.chick.com). How many Roman Caesars believed in the Christian god? Who, allegedly, officially ordered the crucifixion of Christ? Think about it, Einstein.
Bit of advice--> "It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and relieve all doubt."

NO. The word "Christianity" is Greek for "disciple of Christ" and "Christ" is the Greek word for "the Anointed One and His Anointing".
Why would the Romans use a Greek word to describe a growing Jewish spiritual movement?

No. Rome had no need to fabricate anything since they had level Jerusalem. (See Josephus for details).
The Christian movement has been documented especially the attempts for stop the movement, a movement that deny that the emperor was god.
