Find out what else if anything is bothering him. If he says he is fine then present him with your question compassionately. Don't be harsh or accusing. Make sure you mention you are concerned with the health of the relationship and want to make sure everything is ok. Now if everything is ok then he is either lying or not interested anymore.
Hope this helps

I LOVE YOU! (see? easy to say, harder to really mean)..
The eternal "who says it first" situation will always lead to either: 1. an awkward silence
2. an insincere,"me too" or "I love you"
3. an emotional "dam bursting" as you just said what the other person feels but was afraid to say.
Now what? Well, forget what was said. ACTIONS really do speak louder than words! Do his eyes "eat you up" as in he can't take them off of you? Is he really excited to be with you all the time or just when he wants sex? Often many of us tend to filter out reality when WE are infatuated/love someone but in the end if you are honest with yourself you can see and feel another person's love or lack of it..... Watch what he now does not what he says....
Just my .02 cents.

Most guys feel pressured to give the perfect response when a female tells him that she loves him. He wants to please her and tell her exactly what she wants to hear. Sooner or later the man will actually feel that way about her and everything will be alright! If not, everything in the rest of the relationship will be a complete lie...

Guys are that great at expressing their feelings and if you said it first then he probably just said it because you were expecting it. People don't fall in love at the same time. Give him space and time.

Try not to read too much into it. Personally I'd say wait and see if he says "it" back to you without you saying it first again. Maybe he's just really nervous. Good luck and God bless.

He probably needs time to think about your relationship. Or it's the fact that he just said that to make you feel good and not hurt your feelings.

Maybe something was up and he really wasn't excited ask him if he really does love you or not? That should help clear everything up.

i think he just said it just because you said it first. that shows that he does care enough about you to not hurt your feelings, but he might not be in love with you. but that is just my opinion, if you want to find out for sure, you need to ask him yourself or you will never know.
