I would change the federal income tax system to a federal sales tax. This would eliminate the huge tax burden from the upper and middle classes and make honest tax payers out of every consumer in the country.

I would have a law passed that puts an expiration date on every law(ordinance, regulation) in the law book. This would also include an expiration on presidential mandates, acts of congress, and rulings at all levels of our justice system. These expiration dates will extend no further than 20 years beyond the passing of that law which would force our lawmakers to regularly bring up old laws for re-evaluation.
This would be a kind of pruning or culling of our justice systems bloated and out dated code and law books, the removal of uneccessary beuracracies and a furtherance towards the perfection or denigration of our country depending on the will of the people.
This law would also include the grandfathering or carrying over of sentences passed on criminals that extend beyond the expiration dates of laws these criminals violated.
I'm sure their are a lot more loopholes that could be found in such a law but I'm not a lawyer.

I would start by educating this nation: Americans are all those people that live from Canada all the way down to Chile. As you might have notice America is the name of the whole continent..you know. It's funny to see how people from the US uses the word "American" to describe themselves...lol... In Spanish we do have a name for people from the US.."Estado Unidenses" which means people from "Estados Unidos" (United States) The rest of us Americans do have a name for example:
I am Peruvian because I come from Peru
People from Mexico: Mexicans
People from Cuba: Cubans, and so on

There are a great number of things that I would change about America. However, since I am only permitted to pick one item from that twenty-mile list I will pick some realistic that I can change and that would who the current President of the United States is. GOOD-BYE BUSH!!!!!!!

That we could compete with third world overpopulated countries by changing the law so it's possible to raise better, bigger families.

The caucasion race is expected to be a minority before 2050, and extinct some time after 2100 without exact estimates.

Enforce stricter laws for immigration/becoming a citizen. I mean the ones that fly in also, not just border jumper, all, by sea, air, land. I love all people - until you piss me off... And If some one wants to make AMERICA their home, wonderful! JUST DON"T CHANGE MY HOME!!!!! Holidays, Worship, Respect what our Founding Fathers set into place. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but we are losing FREEDOM of SPEECH and FREEDOM of EXPRESSION! Happy Holidays my eye....
If I went to live in another country (any) I would not look for a free handout, I would want to PROVE myself. . .just say'n.

A much more aggressive nationwide recycling program where everyone will want to recycle else it would cost them much more than $0.05 deposit on current bottle & cans.

I would like to see deposits on all cans, bottle ,plastic and glass where it would be ecomically foolish not to return and or recycle.
Some cities allow 1 garbage barrel and you pay more for anything more than 1 barrel.

Also mandatory jail time for anyone caught littering. A month in jail will make a person think twice before throwing out that McDonald's bag filled with garbage out your car window....

It's constitution.

A constitution is the blueprint of a society. It defines our structure, our essential rules and beliefs. It enshrines our culture and who and what we think we are. Therefore, the structure of a society is always determined by the strength of its constitution.

No matter how many good people exist in America, no matter how many honourably intended acts of kindness are provided, poorly constructed constitutions will inevitably lead to poorly constructed societies and to the kind of sadness and evil that now plagues America.

Don't believe me, just listen to the instructions to all Americans who believe in the truth of the founding fathers (declaration of independence):

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness".

absolutely americans views concerning race relations. at this point i have grown extremely tired of americans narrowed mindedness when it comes to race. most americans have done little or no research into their own idealogys of what they think of other cultures. one may say well so what. our racist attitudes at this point are perpetuating our spiraling retrogressive state, which is creating our own cataclysmic doom. i was watching the immigration situation, i feel like this if their is any other person who want to come here from another country i will give thme my citizenship in exchange for 2 million american dollars, or 1.5 million british pounds and a visa to visit here for 20 days out of the year to see my family. MY POINT BEING RACISM IS VERY BORING AT THIS POINT...
