Envelopes, Postage Stamps for bills, etc., a gift card at a grocery store, since she is more than likley on a fixed income.......But what she will treasure more than life itself, is your time....a visit - - a hug - family being around - daily phone calls - to hear a family members voice on the phone.......Life is short - enjoy her - sounds like you are a caring person, and she probley has all she needs. Look around her home, and see if there is some thing that will make her life easier - If she does not have a cell phone, and if she is still active in her own home, and drives, than get a buddy phone (I did that for my mom (age 73), so she can always reach us kids, if she is out and about in the car......Not sure how much you are wanting to spend - but your time is precious to her - a lovely visit - where maybe you fix her lunch, if money is tight - Good luck

Well from experience when you are 85 you pretty much have everything you need. So I would give her a gift from the heart ...
I recently did this for my mother make her a smal scrapbook of pictures of her and yourself and maybee any other grandchildren.. Make sure you put in ther sayings that tell her how you feel about her or maybe some memories that you and her once shared.. I hope this helps and tell your grandmother HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!

See in case you'll get invited to a knock-off celebration, or warehouse sale, they promote truly large knockoffs, plus if she's a good chum and is conscious you're not any further wealthy she will be in a position to no longer assume more effective than you are able to manage to pay for. attempt to get her some thing equivalent in fee to what she were given you, inspect expenditures for t-shirts on the Ed Hardy web site and then enable that to dictate how a lot you spend. do not blow your budget on her, in simple terms search for some thing respectable, and get your *** out and do a touch serious procuring, yet do no longer purchase the first element you spot both spend 2 or 3 days looking then bypass decrease back and purchase...and save in recommendations if she's a genuine chum that is not any longer what she expects of you, that is that she appreciates the gesture:)

After working in a nursing home for almost a year, I'd suggest getting her some really nice lotion (elderly people have very dry skin) Flowers are very nice too, maybe a sweater (they also get cold really easily) Lots of choices! Just think about how special she is to you and what a few of her favorite things are, it will make it a lot more personable and sweet. God bless

Something cheerful or interesting to her. My mother is the same age and I often buy her flowers or a nice colorful vase for flowers. I bought her a book by Bob Dole on CD once ... they are of the same era and his life story reminds her of the times in which she raised a family. It isn't like buying a gift for a girlfriend your age. Your grandmother will enjoy seeing you bring the gift to her more than anything. And she'll brag on you forever when she shows off what you got her.

Take her out for a night on the town. She's 85 and I bet she wants to break out and be with the girls for a night.

You could get her a nice scented bath set-
You know, bubbles, soap, and especially lotion. If she has a favorite scent or flower go with that fragrance. A gift certificate to a salon to have her hair done is another option, but she'd like it all the more if you went with her!

A letter telling her how much she means to you and how much she has impacted your life. Spend time with her (the most important gift) and ask her to help you fill out a book on the important things in her life (available in bookstores). She will get a wonderful gift from you and you will have a treasure from her.
