First off we all have the same Maker in a physical sense but not in a spiritual one. For The god of the muslims is a false god while Christians worship the true God.
It is unfortunate that there is fighting though. But to tell you the truth I am a pastor and I have never fought with a muslim and I don't think I would. I would try to share the love of Jesus with them but if they rejected me I would not take it personally and would not fight with them at all.
However if they were a good muslim and were unable to convert me to Islam according to the quran they should kill me. I guess it's good that most muslims are very liberal in their beliefs and don't go around killing people who disagree with them. Unfortunately some do.
But like I said I have never fought with one and I don't plan on fighting one anytime soon.

just so they can argue? i think it's just the opposite ... so they can figure out how to get along. same goes for any of the major religions that figure they've cornered the market on truth. IF 'god' had a hand in setting things up they way they are (and I doubt that), i think it would probably be for the purposes of a generations-long exercise in tolerance and compassion.

You know this is a tricky one. I sometimes wonder if God is actually our minds, and that the holy spirit is the things we cant explain, and heaven or hell is actually the five minutes of "life" that we have when we are clinically dead but the brain is still active. and heaven or hell is actually the state that the mind is in as we flick through the memories of our life.
SO in a long round about way, i think people make themselves what they are, God is nameless, and so is "THE" religion.

Because Christians twisted the OT and hide the original NT
Yet they failed to remove Muhammad SAW the prophet of Islam from it.http://www.answering-christianity.com/open_challenge.htm

Islam and Christianity are competing mental viruses. They reinforce eachother only to the extent that they promote the general idea of faith - the hope being of course, that the potential victims will choose THEIR virus.

Good Point, but it's actually dif't gods, that's why they war, for their respective gods. (Because Gods are an invention of humans.)
Oh yeah, and it's people that make up the gods if you couldn't get my idea. not the other way around.
