the bird has red cheeks, a red beak, is very small blackishbrown and seems shy. And im not choosing an answer that is a word (example mango).

Name for ether male or female: Robin

Judging by the description of your bird I'd say Robin is the best choice since some types of robin are brown with a red chest.
