yes but the husband needs to love her and treat her with the utmost respect. that's the only way the love, honor and obey works without making the wife feel like she's less of a person.

I will love him, honor him, but will not obey.

We have been married for 21 yrs. and he has never "told me" to do anything,, i am not a child... I will be glad to do anything for him if he ask, and vice versa.

WE only said "yes,," to get it over with, and get on w/ the fun stuff
If you start off being a team you will stay a team.
My husband has a lot of respect for me and i am sooo thankful.

I feel so sorry for the wives who HAS to cook, or keep the house clean only because her "man" demands it .

I keep a very organized, clean and loving home for our family because it makes me feel good, and I want to show him that i appreciate what he does for me,,, but he does not insist that i do it.. when it is a mess, and i want to clean it..he tells me the house looks fine,, don't worry about it today ...let's go out to eat, and we will do this later.

They should love and honor, but obey only in certain cases (maybe in bed... just kidding) they are wives not slaves neither are they being to be controlled.

Not unless the hubby does too! Besides no one uses that archaic phrase any more.It is either omitted all together or cherish is used in stead . Love, honor and cherish.

the husband is also supposed to agree to that. those words are from the traditions wedding ceremony. When i got married, i had the word "obey" removed from our ceremony.

Skip the "OBEY" part. Marriage is an equal oppertunity union.

. A WOMAN SHOULD FOLLOW HER HUSBAND BUT THE MAN SHOULD BE DECENT AND HONORABLE. A WIFE IS TO OBEY , A MAN HONORS AND CHERISHES
