When dating a guy or girl for a long time sometimes, you fall in love with them. Then one day you both break up. And it hurts so much to try and forget about them and move on. Then comes the saying, "Your first love always hurts." But why?

I am not truly sure, but I have heard it all the time.. and I feel that I will soon be hurting because things are not that great with my first/current love. What I can say (advice I am taking upon myself) is that what we learn and take with us from our first love will only make us realize just exactly what we want.. what we don't want and where we made mistakes. When that new love shows up in your life again.. you are ready, you understand and you pave a new foundation for that relationship. What does not kill you only makes you stronger, first loves are a lesson from which we learn from and cherish the good moments of it in our memories and hearts. Learn and apply, and surely the second person to enter your heart is the right person who will love you back as much as you love them. Whatever you do don't hold back..

Well, my first love didn't hurt because we moved to different schools. BUT MY SECOND DID! It might be devastating at first, but this experience will allow you to grow as a person. When you get back on your feet, you'll realize that you won't need a significant other to be happy! (But then that's when a good person comes along!) Just keep your head up. Things will get better.

Because its the very first time that you are so vulnerable. Its the first time you give your heart away and you cant picture yourself with anyone else ever. You never even think of it ending but my saying is that your first love will be the best feeling until its over and its the hardest thing to get over.

I think its because since its your *first love*...its your first experience with the feeling of rEAlly loving someone..and caring so much about the other person that you'd do anything for him..and actually losing all that is like a family member dying...the one person you care so much about..is gone...and it hurts so much...it feels like your heart's been shatterd in a million pieces...

The reason is because they are the first person you get close to. The one you really care about, then all of a sudden they leave you. It hurts because they are the first person you come close to.

Because your used to the person your with and he/she is not there anymore you will miss that..and as you get older your heart will be broken, life will teach you how to deal with better so you will not hurt as the first love...

Prepare yourself. Unless you plan to marry the guy in your next relationship.

Every failed love is going to hurt.
