Ronaldo, it is difficult to think because the human condition is one in which our nature has been turned upside down, so that the "rational" or thinking part of our soul, is no longer in control. Instead, the other parts of our souls, such as the "appetitive" or desiring part, and the "incisive" or reacting part, allow various passions dominate our minds and cloud our ability to think the way we should.

When that happens, we are unable to see situations and others clearly, because our appetites, desires, and reactions - all supporting our selfish ego - get in the way.

The solution to this is a process of restoration that includes: purification, illumination and sanctification. This process restores the right relationship between the various parts of our souls and bodies and allows us to see and think clearly; it also restores a right relationhip between us and our fellow human beings, and between us and God.

This process of restoration is found through the life in Jesus Christ, and in particular through the Church that He established, which is His Body - the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church.

It's not difficult at all. Human brain is constantly thinking of something, the hard thing is to clear your mind of any kind of thoughts and that I think it's impossible to do, even for 10sec.

It's not difficult to think, we do it unconciously. A better question might be - why does it hurt to think sometimes? or... Why is it difficult to think of the correct answer to our own questions?
