I have children and this is all I know from the experience.
Unless the other girl/woman has had blood tests there is no way she can know rather the sex of her baby is male or female at the fetal developmental stage of 2 months.
And there would be no reason for this test. Unless you suspect some genetic abnormality. But simply to determine sex it is not done or adviced. There would have to be certain health issues.
Normal tests to check on the baby's growth are done via pelvic exams and measuring the uterus and an ultrasound. And even that is done for the health of the baby.
During the course of the ultrasound the lab tech may asked you if you want to know the sex of your baby? But even in an ultrasound it isn't always a certainty of sex.
Until the fetus is at least 6 to 7 months in the developmental stage the males testes may not have dropped. So it is possible that even the doctor can be wrong about the sex.
Certain tests are done to detect chromosome abnormalities.
But point blank here.............."homeboy" is full of sh*t.

no
The only way to find out early would be through blood tests they do to test for chromosomal abnormalities. I think the earliest they do those is at 12 weeks and then at 20 weeks they can most of the time tell on an ultrasound.

It depends on the size and position of the baby. Some babies develop/grow at a faster rate than others. If the baby is in a position to see the genital, then the sex can be determined.

no because around that time the sex of the baby is still un noticable by an ultrasound. All of my OB/GYN's wouldnt see you untill you are 8 weeks or more and no ultrasound untill 20 weeks or later...unless there is something that they are conserned with
