ice, elevate your hand and watch it...if it just happenned you have to expect swelling...if the injury happened a few days ago u should get it looked at in case it has a clot and the ice should b on for first 24 hrs, like a half hour at a time every 2 hrs, then warm soaks next couple days the point is to increase the circulation to reabsorb the blood...u broke blood vessels in there

if the blood is under the nail straighten a paper clip heat the tip until it is red hot then place the tip of the paper clip on the nail and let it melt through as soon as the hole is complete the blood should run through and the pain shoul ease up then u should soak the thumb in a mixture of half warm water and half peroxide three times a day

Ice definately,, but only for 5 to 10 minutes at a time or you will do further damage, other than that take Advil for the pain.

sterilize a needle and put the needle in the opposite hand as the hurt one, hold the needle with your thumb and index finger, and roll it. You are going to drill a hole in your fingernail. And yes, the blood will spurt out, but it will feel much better

You may have pinched a nerve...try massaging the area and loosening up the pinched area. If this does not work, you must go to the E.R. Use lotion if you must to help with the friction of the rubbing

take a drill bit and drill a small hole in your thumbnail this will relieve the pressure and allow the blood to leave from under the nail...

well it doesnt make sense to not go to the doctor so I guess you just have to wait and see what happens...take a painkiller and watch and wait if you dont want to seek medical attention! good luck

first take some analgesics to get rid of pain.
next take some antibiotics
if you get pus in your thumb go to a doctor and get it drained.
