This question is very vague. I am not sure if you are asking what are the benifits of having both together or seperatly. A website is for many reasons. To sell items, to convey information, to get others interested in something, etc. A software application can do many different things, depending on what it was written for. It could be a word program in which you can type papers and edit them easily, an excel or spreadsheet program is which you minipulate data, like adding up invoices or household expenses, or a data base progam in which you keep files like employee information and customer information, of just a mailing list, or it could be a program which runs all other programs like an Operating System such as Windows XP or it could be a game, or a utility to manage other programs, you get the drift. So, a webisite is basically for informational, promotional use, and software is to get stuff done work wise, or just a fun game or play music or mess with photos, or some stuff like that. I hope this helps some. I do not know what a website and a software program together would do, but I do know that some websites utilize video and music software to provide those types of media on the site. Often the commercials you see which are displayed via a moving vidoe with sound is using software which allows for that type of media to play on the site. a website can also utilize software which allows users to add photos to personalize their own blogs, such as on MySpace.com.
