If the source number is in cell A1, just type =-A1 in a blank target cell.

Assuming that your mis-entered numbers are all in a column, you can then drag the formula down the target column to replicate.

Finally, if you want to get back to real values instead of fomulas, you can select the target column with the switched numbers and copy it. Then >Edit>Paste Special>Values .

This is not really just a 'basis' question. You need to go in and change each section of numbers. Now, to do so you need to do the "find and replace" function. It is on the edit menu. Go to "Edit" then to "find". Put in the range of numbers you need to change then put in the numbers you wish to replace it with in the "replace" tab. then click search, or find, or OK which ever it is I don't remember off the top of my head.

Good luck, it isn't really all that difficult, but it can be a bit time consuming when you need to change a lot of cell ranges which are different. The Find/Replace is best for certain words, numbers or phrases which are in a large workbook and you want to change then all.

Choose the rows/columns that you just need formated in this manner. Open the structure Menu and select structure column/row/mobilephone. Format the cells to numbers however ensure you opt for that the terrible might be in one in all your picks (purple, minus, brackets, and many others.) near the right and backside you are going to see the place you can select in the illustration box. Drop the arrow down and there might be other selections to choose. Should you wish more customization than that, provide me a shout. Dont disregard, should you handiest do one telephone the others wont incorporate the format except you replica the layout or prefer the entire area first. Sandra

-In a cell outside of your range type -1
-Ctrl-C (copy) that cell
-Select your range that you need to change
-Right-click in the range and coose Paste Special...
-Choose Multiply and click OK

Your values should be all inverted now. No need to change back to values, you haven't used a formula.

In the next column type this
=C1*-1
assuming that your -ve/+ve values are in C so in D all -ve will be +ve and viceversa
