why do the governments (not just the usa)por trillions of dolars into space programs when it is so desperately neede on earthly matters, dont get me wrong i understand the importance of space exploration but until there is a major leap in technology they wont be able to do much they can barely get past themoon and not take 15 years for some information i would just like to know why they dont just help the hungryor underdeveloped countries instead of that frightening amount of money?

sorry if iput it in the wrong category i dont know whichone to putit in.

Uh, you talk about needing a major leap in technology to make it worthwhile. How do you think those major leaps in technology happen? Not by sitting around with our thumbs up our butts. We have to keep pushing further to hit that next technological wonder. So we have to keep going further and further. Want further evidence as to why we shoudl keep trying? Stephen Hawing, one of the most brilliant men of our age, was just published a few days ago, saying that Humans desperately need to explore and find another planet which we can colonize and live on, before something either naturally occurs, or we do something ourselves, that causes our own extinction here on Earth. Im not going to argue with Stephen Hawking, personally.

Personally I'd rather my Tax dollars get spent on improving the Space Program Rather than help yet another country.......

Or at worst putting the money spent on the Space Program back into our own country.......

They could start with Free Healthcare for all US citizens......

The whole idea behind space exploration and research is sparked from human curiosity.
If you do your research many products we use were developed from research done in zero G or micro gravity. Money spent on space missions aren't a complete waste.

If you ask me in a few years we will know more about space than the planet we live on.

I totally agree with you. I've been wondering about it for some time. Kind of nice to know you're not the only one, isn't it?
